Has a real case of Islamophobia finally emerged?
The headline is a bit misleading. Apparently this dude was saying mean stuff to a couple of girls in Muslim garb on a train when some upright folk tried to bring an end to his odious behavior. So, he slit two of their throats--killing them--and injured a third... defender?

This is an especially sad and disturbing incident. People lost their lives or were injured because they stood up to hate.
We need to offer our heartfelt support to the two women and others who were targeted. The courage of the people who stood up for them is a reminder that we as a city need to stand together to denounce hate....
The details are a bit thin at this time, but could this simply be freedom of speech and self defense? The story doesn't report that the guy menaced or threatened the girls, or "younger women." How did anyone propose to end this guy's hate speech?
I've heard a lot of people talk a lot of crazy shit on trains before, but....
EDIT: I sincerely hope the mayor of Portland isn't flying to London in an official capacity!
