Listening to podcasts - trying to figure this Trump shit out.

Here's my take.

The left is going apeshit about Trump - Braying about impeachment... What a gong-show!

The right is going apeshit about the left going apeshit about Trump.

The truth is...

Trump is just bad at what he's doing.
He's not serving the interests of either side.

The left should shut up already about the Russians... it's making them look like idiots... which unfortunately way too many of them are.

The right should be pissed off at Trump... he is letting them down mightily.

I think Trump is shaking things up internationally, everybody is spooked by the US right now, Trump is making them pander to the Americans in a way that weak assed obseqious Obama never did, they may not like Trump, but they definitely fear him, so you can check that box for the American Right.

On the domestic side, the biggest thing is Gorsuch, the GOP blocked the Dems from getting their SCOTUS pick, and then they replaced Scalia with a Scalia 2.0, which is huge, the most important thing of all, that alone is worth having stopped the Democrats, right there, right thur, no matter what Trump does from here on out.

Trump's actually gettting a lot of shots in for the Right, he's laying a beat down on the EPA, he's doubling down on private prisons and harsh sentencing, he's cracking down on labour entrenched interests, he's letting the anti-abortion folks off the leash, he's bashing away on LGBTQSJW pandery, he's giving Wall Street a pass, he's rattling the immigrants something fierce, Trump is actually putting all sorts of stick about, sabotaging the whole Obama agenda with alacrity.

From a regluatory stand point, Trump is giving the GOP entrenched interests a free shot at all their nemeses.

Oh, and a $110 billion weapons deal to the Saudis? That's actually a big order, even for the Saudis, that's more than what the Pentagon would spend on new equipment for the year, so that's like a bonus year of production for the MIC and then some.

I mean, Saudi Arabia is buying 150 Blackhawk helicopters? They don't have the force to support that, that's a ridiculous order, half of those will go straight into storage, so that's just pure pandering to Trump, and the reason is, he makes them nervous, they're trying to curry favour right out of the gate, just to keep Trump on side.

Private prisons are super and requiring companies clean up their messes is bad?

What a topsy turvey set of priorities you have. Private prisons means a profit is going to be made, but only if somebody goes to prison. We're already the most highly imprisoned country on the planet. We don't need more of our citizens in prison.

I actually LIKED the EPA regulation that companies clean up after themselves. You don't clean up after yourself? You expect the taxpayers of Canada to clean up your messes?
