A dispute between passengers and an American Airlines employee is bringing another black eye to the airline industry, just weeks after a violent confrontation on a United plane went viral.

With the information given in the article this seems more like a bad employee that should be fired than a systemic problem with the airline.

Still seems to me that things happened when they shouldn't have.TheOneX wrote:With the information given in the article this seems more like a bad employee that should be fired than a systemic problem with the airline.

Welcome to ND Airways. We'll gut check your grandma if she gives us any lip. Want some peanuts? Think fast. I don't know where your luggage is, fuck off.

Honest to God, mobilizing and flying off to a combat zone loaded into the little cabin at the top of a C-5 is more pleasant than commercial airlines.

Agreed, given that the airline has already suspended the employee, and is investigating the situation it is hard to be outraged about it.The Conservative wrote:Still seems to me that things happened when they shouldn't have.TheOneX wrote:With the information given in the article this seems more like a bad employee that should be fired than a systemic problem with the airline.

The captain just stood there the whole time.
No other employee tried to deescalate the situation. The same flight attendant who was part of the confrontation was expected to deescalate and deal with it.
He fucked up, sure, but the real fuck up was their management.

There is no excuse for this shit to happen... past, present or future.TheOneX wrote:Agreed, given that the airline has already suspended the employee, and is investigating the situation it is hard to be outraged about it.The Conservative wrote:Still seems to me that things happened when they shouldn't have.TheOneX wrote:With the information given in the article this seems more like a bad employee that should be fired than a systemic problem with the airline.
Oh yeah, the guy was suspended... whoopty doo... they were all given first class seats... whoopty doo... tell me... do you think you'd be appeased if that happened to you?
Oh, and a side note... someone punches my wife, three things will happen. I hit them, they hit the ground, and I don't stop hitting them till someone pulls me off.

That's what I pointed out to people defending this industry in the other thread. If some dude got violent with my wife, almost striking my baby but striking my wife instead, I bet it would take at least three minutes for the police to get on there to pull me off.
