Sun Edison - Solar Energy is too expensive?

And it's just getting worse:

This is an old article, but the link directly above is new with information, but the real question comes is this. Is Solar Energy too expensive?
I still think that Solar Panels used in another format than how they are being used could be cost effective, but what I am seeing now, the cost of a solar panel system on a house, or anything else large/larger scale like what SunEdison attempted makes solar power cost-ineffective.
A 10KW system still costs about $36,000... companies like PG&E are paying so little to people that to recoup the costs of the initial investments would take decades... if at all. (in some cases a new roof would be installed before that happens)
I seriously am doubting that the way things are if we can actually solve our "energy consumption" by "clean energy" alone. We may just have to use Nuclear Power Plants to resolve this issue short term.
I refuse to accept that "wind" is the way to go as well, with it's effect on nature and animals, it is in some cases more deadly than super solar collector sites.

Nuclear may be the best option, but it has such a stigma to it that probably will never be used to anything near it's current capabilities.
Our carousel of energy answers will end up like bagging at the grocery store and bottled water. We went from paper bags BAD, use plastic, to now plastic BAD, bring your own reusable bags to the store. We also went from it being cool to drink bottled water because it was better for you to OMG all these plastic bottles are BAD!
Right now wind and solar are worth exploring, but they are not the best option for powering subdivisions full of households using ever more electronic devices.

I simply can't understand why we don't go full nuclear. If the government can convince millions that we need to invade the world, and voting matters, then it should be no problem at all to wipe the stigma from power plants. Public education, etc.

I am not sure about the Sun.
Does anyone have any suggestions about quality folding camping chairs?
I am ready to drop some money if they are worth it...

You're going to want one that's portable for your bug out bag. Lots of solar cells and spare SIM cards too.

I always hated plastic bottles, I prefer glass, things taste better in a glass bottle over a plastic one.PartyOf5 wrote:Nuclear may be the best option, but it has such a stigma to it that probably will never be used to anything near it's current capabilities.
