The progressives and bernie bros hate him. In any other enviroment I'd say you have a point, but now Obama V1.8 isn't going to light the world on fire. I doubt a Clinton, even one without the baggage is going to inspire anyone here?

The man believes in America and American values. He's a religious man. He took heat as a city councilman for not being able to deliver to his constituents. When two security guards were beaten nearly to death in a well known drug lot owned by gangsters in his neighborhood he pitched a tent in the middle of that danger zone a pulled a ten day hunger strike until the mayor was forced to respond.

Show me Obama, Trump, GWB, or any other politician you like putting it all on the line like that.

I'd think you'd respect the guy, even if he's a (D) and not an (R), simply because of your shared beliefs and out of respect for the dedication he has to getting things done. Deeds, not words - as they say.

That's why he's so successful.
He'll sit in the middle of a violent, drug infested den and pull a ten day hunger strike for what he believes in.

His opponents post snarky shit on the internet and have opinions.

Gee, wonder who is gonna kick whose ass in that fight.

Mayor made lots of promises. Upped the police presence in the area for the short term.
All that vanished when the media furor and photo ops declined.

So Cory Booker took his job in 2006.

Boom.
