Before they got picked up by HBO, vice used to make some good documentaries. The Liberia one was probably their most compelling one. All of the allegations that Vice is poverty porn are correct, but back in the day they used to cover some very interesting stuff. I don't know what happened.

Also, the article follows the script on every goddamn criticism of comedy I have every seen. It starts of by saying how much they love the comedian, how they love comedy, and how they are totally ok with comedy and edginess, followed by reasons why none of those things are true.

Presumably Chapelle failed the test of acceptable offensiveness, which sounds like an oxymoron to me, but who am I to question some Australian self-described comedian.

Chappelle pointed out the scam that is all. Why does he have to take a backseat to a rich white man who doesnt want his penis anymore?

What I find far more interesting is that in the 13-odd years Chapelle has been outside of the spotlight, the left went from dominating most decent comedy to being boring pedants applauding each other for believing all the right stuff.

Then, on cue, Chapelle gets a lecture about 'punching down' (whatever that is supposed to mean) after he releases his specials.

Idiots. You can take it far, but I wonder how Robin Williams, Chris Rock, or George Carlin would do if they started talking their careers today? They skewered everybody.

Vice is just cashing in. They cashed in on the hipster thing, and now this. If the alt-right really ever picks up a huge following, Vice will become race realist. Bet that.

Alt-right won't pick up when it comes to the masses. That's the way it is.

And for VICE, they are a great team of young reporters taking far too dangerous chances when reporting to their health. Well, they are young. But they will become older and then they won't take such chances that no other news media with age old Vietnam vets doing the reporting will do.

You do not see that much from American news organizations anymore. They don't even do any serious probing of Government, or Big Business here anymore. Probably don't want to lose "access" or advertising revenue.

Whatever mystique "reporters" used to have is gone. What used to be news is now advertising, or worse, indoctrination.

I'm not a conspiracy theory guy, and even though I've know the MSM was controlled by a handful of companies, I hadn't really accepted that it had become totally compromised because, who? Zionist Feminists? It sure seems like that. Conservative billionaires have been selling off their unprofitable MSM holdings, and Zionist Feminists have been buying. Conservatives didn't factor in the indoctrination value of what they had.

Greed, laziness, and celebrity worship explains most of it. Doing any though coverage takes time, and money to do well. Reporter(s), cameraman, maybe sound, editors. You could cover city hall full, do some good stories. Also make the government mad at, perhaps deny you some easy access in the future, maybe lose an advertiser. Or you could spend less money, and save yourself some trouble send a reporter and cameraman to cover a dog show for an afternoon.

Also you get to hobnob with the powerful if you just do puff pieces because they'll call you for that interview, or off the record phone call. Some politicians are more celebrities than actual legislators, or governors.

There are still reporters, even editors, and managers who still want to do honest work but they don't own the ever fewer media megacorps.
