The Next Generation
As far as I can tell by the people I've interacted with, the next generation of Americans (those currently in high school and below) will be extremely socially liberal. I've moved around enough to knoow its not just the area I'm in; the acceptance of LGBT rights is hugely supported (by me as well). That much is about fine- the recognition that people can say pretty much what they want about themselves and shouldn't be legally reduced for it- but I find it queer that those minor elements of society are frequently lauded as some measure of progress and actively encouraged by peers.
I'm currently in Kansas, but have seen this trend in Colorado and Illinois as well.
I'd have a hard time believing this is really a national trend, but I can't personally find any major counterexamples. How are the young people in your areas?

The ones around me are Mexican and litter up the parks. You're young though everyone is a liberal socialist at your age. Most are...

Interesting, but I find something off with the piece. The first is the response system (at least as the article indicates). Using "quite conservative" or "very liberal" or "quite liberal" as response options isn't too good when polling 14 and 15 y/o (who might not know exactly what those mean with any exactitude).TheReal_ND wrote:The ones around me are Mexican and litter up the parks. Even so, I'd like to see some of these conservative teenagers; they're fairly lacking everywhere I've been (although even Illinois near Chicago had a few crazy-conservatives).
Edit: Certainly agree with the hypothesis that many teens lack time to involve themselves in much risky behaviour. I'm not in the most well funded of areas, but there are enough school sponsored activities to keep one busy 30 hours a day, and many of my classmates work a job as well. I find that the people not involved don't want to be.

Re: The Next Generation
I was actually looking for the "most fascist generation," article but google is hiding it I guess.
It's pretty normal to be liberal and socialist like that when you're young. That's how schools work. If any of them are lucky enough to find out where the dank memes come from they could flip though.

Re: The Next Generation
If what I am seeing happening to millennials is any indication, the next generation is going to be uber-traditionalist.
Even at church, the guitar mass is almost dead. The youth want Latin masses back. Boomers lost.
There are only two directions when you hit rock bottom degeneracy as we have: traditional western civilization or Islam. I was worried about the latter offering them the certainty they crave, but they are rejecting it. Something about constant terror attacks, I guess.

Most don't seem politically active. They all seem more tolerant, regardless of political leaning.
The biggest divide (besides race) is class.

It's becoming another word for class.
