The Smugness of the Left

Interesting article a friend gave me to read a while back (just got around to doing it now).

IMHO, the smugness of the left is akin to the religious fever of the right....both cloud judgment and reasoning.....But there are a lot of Smug assholes on the left...looks like it caught up to them this November...

I remember reading that article, and agreeing with most of it.

It's a common problem in politics, it seems like correlates with "your side" winning a second term...

I'll just leave this here in case anyone thinks this is only a problem on the left.

Trump capturing the nomination will not dispel the smug style; if anything, it will redouble it. Faced with the prospect of an election between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, the smug will reach a fever pitch: six straight months of a sure thing, an opportunity to mock and scoff and ask, How could anybody vote for this guy? until a morning in November when they ask, What the fuck happened?
