He’s also a visiting scholar at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and a visiting professor at the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs. He was previously deputy undersecretary of commerce for international trade policy in the Clinton administration and managing director of Kissinger Associates, the advisory firm founded by former U.S. Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger.

But, unbeknownst to Daily Beast readers consuming his commentary about Saudi Arabia, Rothkopf is something else: a paid lobbyist for the Saudi regime’s close ally, the equally despotic regime of the United Arab Emirates. Last month, Rothkopf formally registered as a foreign agent for the Emiratis.

A lot of people now realize the MSM is totally fake and propaganda. But they still have not come to realize that the so-called "media" has always been fake.

GoG asked me yesterday where I go to find real news. Well, the answer paradoxically is to assume most news sites are propaganda, and those that remain are heavily biased. The best news comes from people who just do there own thing. Citizen journalists are the real thing. They have biases too, but some of them are doing the real work.

It's always been that way. As soon as you got printing presses and the ability of small players to get the word out about what is happening in the world, people with enough resources to do so tried to create official news outlets and papers to push their political faction or whatever else they were trying to defend. Anything that is a major newspaper, television outlet, and even a blog, is not worth trusting.

As soon as the printing press came along, power factions exploited it to control public opinion in their favor. The narrative that the media freed people's minds is a lie. It was quite the opposite.
