Trade wars have no winners. Remind me who said that?
He's right tho.

You guys need to quit fucking around. But your politicians won't allow it.
Thing is, it's the most important and possibly damaging thing the UK has done since Germany invaded Poland. It is too important to rush and risk fucking up.
That is why what sort of deal we leave with is so crucial.
It is also why the public should get a say in the final deal.
Before the referendum no-one had any idea what the deal would look like.
Think of it as buying a house without ever seeing it first. That is really not sound fiscal policy.
This is not buying a house. It's a divorce.

You don't sit there and haggle, paying off your lawyers forever, you just do it. Get it over with, or it will only get worse.

So accept the cost of divorce without negotiation even though you have no idea what that cost will be?

To stretch the metaphor further, you are giving up your kids futures, writing a blank cheque to your ex and bending over while she fucks you up your arse with a strap-on.

You wanted to leave badly enough to actually shock the world and do it. Don’t stop at the doorway.

The EU is terrified of losing you, and they want to make it hurt. Cut the cord. There are plenty of trading partners around, and she’ll be back in a month.

This.

Get the fuck away from the EU - the EU countries will come crawling back when they realize they need a market to sell into. Don’t fall prey to their threats. Grow some fucking ballz again - I mean Fuck - you guys were shut out of the continent for half a fucking decade when you held off the Third Reich.

Home of the Last Lion indeed.

That's the thing though, we were split down the middle about leaving and that was before anyone had any idea of the consequences.
This is why the hardcore leavers are running so scared of any sort of second referendum. They want no public vote on the deal the beurocrats in government have worked out with the beurocrats in Brussels.
Some fucking return to determining our own future.

We will always be a part of Europe and they will always be our largest trading partner. With Brexit though, we have no further say in the direction Europe goes because we lose our seat at the table and will still have to pay for the privilege of trading with them in one way or another.

The more appropriate metaphor to reality is:

The ex is demanding you write her a check for $39billion, plus sign all the rest of the blank checks in your checkbook and give her that too so she can take more money when she feels like it. She wants your fishing boat and your Spanish coastal villa, and as part of the divorce agreement you aren't allowed to date anyone else without her approval, only under her continued rules, and anytime she wants she can butt fuck you with that strap on, and you have no say in any of it anymore. She makes all the rules, you make none.

That is IF you sign her divorce agreement. Your alternate choice is to say fuck it, and just walk out the door and leave, keeping your money, dating anyone else you want, and telling her to fuck off.

...then she'll realize she's broke and heavily in debt, and probably come crawling back to you.

Do you know what a no deal Brexit means?
It means all trade deals are off with everyone, not just the EU. Standard WTO tariffs on any future trade with every nation still trading with you until a new trade deal with each country is worked out, which will take years to negotiate, during which time investment in the UK stops and the economy nosedives. Plus the EU won't even start discussing new trade deals with you until you agree to cough up the divorce money.

Congratulations you've just cut off your nose to spite your face.

Lolz Monte - calm down and have a fucking cupcake. How long do you think the EU can go without the GB's market? And you really think the GB can't support itself with internal trade?

Dam it - start acting like the Englishman you claimed to be. Are you really pets of the EU? Unable to take care of yourselves?

Does GB not have the skill set and fortitude to sustain itself?

Fuck it, I'm going to quote the milk snatcher on globalisation again
There is no alternative
Want to live in a country with no international trade? you could try North Korea I suppose but even they get their coal from China.
Give me a country which supports itself on internal trade only...
I've got all day so I don't mind waiting.
