DB, I think you're right about getting concessions, not likely to happen. He will probably get a promise of a border wall, will a few miles built and that's about it.

Why would I be pissed off about Trump showing his total lack understanding of the situation when it comes to himself, that even his closest advisor said it was the worst mistake in modern political history.
Perhaps you think that Trump firing Mueller would be "draining the swamp" too!
Now just what has Trump done to drain the swamp?

This is such a YUUUUUUUUUUUGE Betrayal of Democrats, Liberals and Progressives to have Democrat Leadership meeting, dining and dealing with the White Supremicist, Misogynist, Homophobe POTUS.
Besides, Trump has always liked democrats, starting from Hillary, a very nice woman:

I think we all know Trump has never been a big R Republican.
Seriously though, how can the noisy scores of Lefties who've ranted about anything and everything concerning Trump for the last 2 years stay silent when Dem leaders meat with Trump. If Trump is so Damn bad to create so much crying and hand wringing, anyone meets with Trump must be Neville Chamberlain at best, and makings deals with him, makes them collaborators with evil.

Possible that T is just flirting with the D's, will get close to a deal, look back at the R's and give 'em one final chance.
Maybe not.

What will be interesting is just how many supporters he maintains after going back on his campaign promises. Plenty of independent voters like the Paul-bots have already bailed because Af/Pk. There will be more defections from the hard-right independents following this debacle. How much of the GOP base he is going to lose will be the question. (Are they really as racist as we are told?)DBTrek wrote:/shrugPenner wrote:http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/13/politics/ ... index.html
Looks like the Dreamers are going to stay here after all.
They were small fish in a big pond anyway, but if the rumors are true that the president is caving without getting any worthwhile concessions then he's a fool. Actually caring about citizens of the nation and distinguishing them from all the random souls that managed to creep across the borders is what put that blustering chowderhead in power. If he starts acting like the whole citizen/not citizen distinction doesn't matter and fails to get a wall I suspect the few allies he can still claim will flee his camp.
But - I could be wrong.
Wouldn't be the first time I incorrectly predicted his implosion.
If history is a guide, the sheep will stay with the heard while all the wolves in sheep's clothing (independent and Tea Party voters) slink back to the woods and the march towards Globalism will continue.
The one thing Trump had over Hillary the entire election was TRUST. Not that he was GW level trustworthy, but he was always 10pts higher than his opponent.
Now, Trump has made himself appear to be nothing more than the average, approval seeking, cuck politician and talking his way out of this will be extremely difficult.
My guess is it turns those scorned even harder to the right and that the challenges in R congressional districts will be vicious. Which is actually what needs to take place in order for the key changes Trump "says" he wants to make to take place.

^^ Good post.
GOP congresspeople have shown themselves to be every bit as useless as DNC. Time for a third party.
