Millionaire athletes protesting.....what exactly? Why are they choosing the anthem for their protests? What are they doing to resolve the issues they are protesting?
They have looked like a bunch of clowns.
- A year ago, maybe 2-3 players per team did this protest thing. The rest didn't really care.
- The POTUS calls out those 2-3 per team for being the asshats they are and suddenly the other become offended and protest (Trump? police brutality? what?).
- After seeing the initial backlash they pivot to "shows of unity". Um, we had that before Kaep and a few others decided to screw with it.
- Now teams (and probably most players) are realizing this wasn't such a great idea and are back to everyone needs to stand and show respect.
During this whole clown show, I haven't seen any of these protesters explaining exactly why they are protesting and why they are doing it during the anthem other than "Kaep started it". All you hear from Kaep is how he wants an NFL job again. Nothing about what he's doing about any of the injustices he originally sat down for.
Now Hill goes off (again), calling for boycotts. What is that going to solve? If you win you get to kneel some more. How about doing something to address the supposed issues this was really all about? None of these people care about doing the hard work to address the issues. They want to tweet, sit, kneel or boycott because that is both easy and high profile. Let someone else do the real work fixing the problems.
After reading about Hill and some of Cali's latest legislative efforts, I can see why 2nd amendment supporters take such a hard line against any additional gun restrictions. The left has shown no ability to compromise. They will push and push and keep pushing until they run themselves off the cliff, but by that time they've already done damage.

NFL owners are considering changing league rules to make it mandatory that players stand for the national anthem, a league spokesman said Tuesday.
The owners will discuss the possibility of changing the rule in a meeting next week. The league’s current policy asks that players players “stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand and refrain from talking” during the playing of the Star-Spangled Banner, but only allows for potential discipline from teams toward players failing to be on the field at that time.

...meanwhile, in that awkward period after the anthem, some sort of sports-like game happens, in which ridiculously-uniformed athletes struggle to keep track of what team they're playing for, and referees systematically destroy any sort of integrity to the proceedings. Fortunately, everything is kept "safe" by eliminating any sort of kick returns, or defensive action beyond a soft hug after the catch. And there will be a catch, because quarterbacks and receivers possess a special 'immunity field' of 3 feet around their person, at all times. The NFL keeps us from getting bored with more than 5 minutes of consecutive play, so that we may be reminded to buy another truck, and some pizza, and then some piss-beer, so that we can be surrounded by models at all times.
The NFL is dying for a whole host of reasons that have nothing to do with the current Anthem Circus.
