I will grant you that most of those jobs won't pay as much as you would like by themselves, but if you are homesteading you can probably make it work. You need some kind of cash crop to produce a surplus of and sell.

Wrong. I'm mid level management and have been working from home for over 15 years. I've moved several times. I could move anywhere in the world. As long as there is internet connection and I'm willing to be available for meetings between 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. ET, my company does not care.
