Don't think I've ever seen Smitty argue in favour of Unions before, Maggie is slowly spining in her grave. ;)
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Not just that, but consequence free public sector jobs program unions.

Freedom of association, Maggie never said you were not entitled to your rights, that doesn't entitle you to any specific outcome vis a vis collective bargaining, but you have the right to form association to do so, Her Majesty defends that right.

It wasn't unions Maggie had a beef with, she simply enacted policy as the Queen's Executive, and then the unions freaked out about it, but she never said there should be no unions and that they were not entitled to legal counsel.

Indeed, he’s been slumming in threads harvesting lulz from B-listers, getting lazy, complacent. That’s why I had to feed him a little dog food and remind him that this isn’t cakewalk forum.

Showing up here with that weak shit ... he’s been drinking since 10AM I reckon. Lazy. Coming at me with that b-game.

The fuck outta here...

I'm not complaining mind, I think a little Union power is a good thing. Not a return to the excesses of 70's Britain but enough power to support their workers through the courts.

You have the right to form associations and bargain collectively, the Prime Minister has the mandate of parliamentary supremacy as the Queen's executive, but it's the same power upholding and defending both, the Commander-in-Chief at Buckingham Palace.

As I've said before, I approved of Thatcher going after the Unions. Secondary picketing needed to go and it was far to easy to go on strike. The treatment of miners who chose to go back to work by Scargil's thugs was apalling.
Now there are very few jobs where you can even join a union though. Seems like we went too far the other way and ceeded too much power to the employers.

I did not approve of the Baroness "going after" unions, but thankfully, that's not what she did, she enacted legislation by parliamentary supremacy, then the unions went after her, she simply called their bluff and was not for turning.

You have the right to association and collective bargaining, but you don't have the right to legislate from the streets therein.

If associations forgo parliamentary supremacy in favour of Bolshevism, more fool them, Her Majesty does not defend that.
