I'm earnestly looking for happiness, with as much rationality as I can muster.

I look at other people, and they're find much of it from institutions. So I ask myself, maybe I just need to find an institution that I believe in, that looks like it does good in the world, that shares my values and then just dive into that, become part of those tribes that spawn off of that. Back when I worked with the US military, there was a pecking order, JSOC was at the top, then SOCOM, within SOCOM, there was the GB's, the Rangers and the SEAL's, they didn't get along with each other, particularly Army v. Navy, but also GB's and Rangers, and all of them looked down on the rest of SOCOM, 'specially the Air Force, then there was Marines and XVIII Corps, and they didn't get along with anynbody, and they certainly didn't get along with each other, 82nd Airborne Pathfinders and Marine Recon were up in Pet one time, it was just fights, fights, fights, non stop, they didn't even fight much with us, they were too busy fighting with each other.
