No, no it wasn't. Why do you associate "real talk" honesty with being stupid?GloryofGreece wrote:Idiocracy being a mediocre movie was actually pretty much dead on right about our future.

"real talk" doesn't equate to vulgarity and glorifying being "famous" and "rich" doesn't mean he'll amount to a damn thing for this country.clubgop wrote:No, no it wasn't. You're right. We should vote for the career politician in all circumstances. Better safe than sorry, right?GloryofGreece wrote:"real talk" doesn't equate to vulgarity and glorifying being "famous" and "rich" doesn't mean he'll amount to a damn thing for this country.clubgop wrote:No, no it wasn't. Yep that's exactly what I said.
Reading comprehension is good. Another way of phrasing my stance would be to say I don't think electing celebrities is a movement in the right direction. That obviously doesn't mean I think "career politicians" are wonderful. If you don't see any reason not to question the wisdom of electing people like Kid Rock, Trump, and say Jesse Ventura then I don't know what to tell you. Carry on.

I agree that we shouldn't go electing Celebrities as a rule, but who else has the money to run for office and retain outsider status? It's a pay to play game now. If Rando Joe could run, I'd vote for him over a celebrity or a career politician. Unfortunately, that's not the world we live in. We have to hope that either an anti-establishment famous person with money or a Ross Perot type runs, or else it's just going to be NeoCons and Leftists (as if there's a difference) until the country collapses, whenever that is.GloryofGreece wrote:Yep that's exactly what I said.

I've noticed a direct connection between declining marriage statistics & clean-shaven men.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote:Anyone who is handing out free mustache rides is a man of the people, beyond moral reproach.

Well since we don't want politicians or celebs, and since there is absolutely zero other options out there, we might as well pat ourselves on the back for being so clever and edgy, never vote for anyone who could possibly win and absolve ourselves of all responsibility.
