C-Mag wrote:Trump Defeats ISIS In Months — After Years Of Excuses From Obama
Nine months after President Trump promised to defeat ISIS "quickly and effectively," U.S.-backed forces captured Raqqa, which until Tuesday had served as the ISIS capital. Trump, not surprisingly, claims it for himself: "It had to do with the people I put in and it had to do with rules of engagement," Trump said in a radio interview.
A former senior military commander in the region told the Washington Examiner that the Obama White House was micromanaging the war "to the degree that it was just as bad, if not worse, than during the Johnson administration." Johnson, you will recall, once bragged that "they can't bomb an outhouse in Vietnam without my permission."...........
Trump made several changes in the way the war was fought, the most important of which were to loosen the rules of engagement and give more decision-making authority to battlefield commanders..............
bottom line is that while Obama preached patience, Trump promised a swift end to ISIS, and then delivered on it.

A Manager or CEO that has a weakness hires people to nullify that weakness, and the company as a whole becomes better. Those that refuse to do so, and take control of everything without accepting that they can't do everything is going to fail.
Obama thought he could do everything and tried to act like he could, and we saw the difference already, Trump knows he can't and puts people in place to compensate for his failings.
If anything Obama and Hitler have one thing in common... they micromanaged instead of allowing the military to do what they needed to do to win.

I think there were 2 big changes here. The Rules of Engagement were changed to allow field commanders to act freely and make decisions on attacking objectives on their own with the only restriction is they had to stay within international law. As opposed to the LBJ micromanagement style of Obama. Second, I think the Trumpster dried up all of ISIS funds and attacking their money.

Actually, Trump brought back the Rules of Engagement back to where it should be, to the people on the ground. Trump also worked on drying up funds, but also the international community did as well... we don't hear much of it, but Qatar got pounded for doing some stuff and because of that is paying the price.

Marine artillery barrage of Raqqa was so intense two howitzers burned out
“Every minute of every hour we were putting some kind of fire on ISIS in Raqqa, whether it was mortars, artillery, rockets, [High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems], Hellfires, armed drones, you name it,” ~ Army Sergeant Major John Wayne Troxell

Remind me again, if Obama was sitting on this plan why didn't he use it? Or was it because he expected Hillary to take the WH and then Obama and Hillary would be in a circle jerk congratulating each other for the good job both of them did in defeating ISIS?
Also, I don't take that story to be true at all, the Obama Administration said ISIL not ISIS.

Oh, it was Obama all along. Damn, he’s done more after his presidency than during the whole time he served.

It’s expected because Trump is doing it without their blessing.
