Obama was the most pro-coal president we had in a generation. Who do you think you are fooling here?

We are the only people on the planet who give a shit about any of this. Consider how the current "free" trade regime incentivizes the offshoring of pollution to the rest of the world (who won't do anything to stop it).
Also consider that we have zero control over what China or India does. They don't give a shit.
If you really believe this stuff, then prepare for it.

Said nowhere that anyone wants "more pollution". Politics these days is short sighted. It's about kicking the can down the road, like "fixing" pollution by introducing carbon trading. Essentially dealing with pollution by shuffling papers on your desk around.

You insinuated that questioning human caused climate change was a ruse to roll back restrictions on pollution.
Yet the US has long led the way in environmental regulations and clean environment, and for much of that time, it was the republicans behind the cleanup.
It's the batshit environmentalist and this doomsday cult that is the problem here. You have it backwards.

Ahem, passed not past.
Anyway passed or not the tipping point need not be the end of the matter. There are ways of locking up carbon and reducing output of CO2 but that defeatist attitude of yours is not helpful. After all you put a man on the moon nearly 50 years ago when most people thought that was impossible too. Your new twins are going to see some scary changes in their lifetimes unless the head in the sand, la la la I can't hear you crowd can be persuaded to change their minds. For your kids sakes you shouldn't give in, whilst it does seem like 97% (citation needed) of the worlds climate deniers live in the USA that's no reason for YOU to admit defeat.
GREEN POWER!!!
fight the good fight.......
Past. As in, the time for fighting it is now past us.
Don't pretend for a minute that somehow the US is going to about-face, stop all CO2 emissions AND influence the rest of the world to do so in the next week. Because that's what it would take to stop this from happening.
The fight is over. My kids will learn to survive in the new climate.

Wanting no or less regulations on pollution isn't strictly speaking "
wanting more pollution". It's just not giving a shit about it. They want to make money... not be Captain Planet villains.
And I
would be having whatever "it" is backwards,
if I was a batshit environmentalist doomsayer. I love me a bay full of the blood of pilot whales and fully support Greenlanders taking advantage of the melting ice on Greenland to open up for mineral extraction.

That's not really an accurate characterization of people who oppose the idea that humans cause climate change. It's really just a straw man. But whatever.

Not talking about those who follow the narratives. Talking about those who create them. Big companies and organizations don't just influence public opinion, they can also create it organically by feeding stories to "independent" media and letting it grow from there.

It isn't a "narrative".
Narrative is the left's version of "alternative facts".

I'll accept "the tipping point is in the past" but "is past" butters no parsnips my friend.
If you really have given up then just make sure your kids are good swimmers.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.
