And who for the last number of years has been attacking the sport of football itself? It's a hard row to hoe for us to believe you all genuinely care of these athlete's thoughts when you weeks earlier were treating them as brutish, brain damaged adolescents one head trauma away from being vegetables.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote:I'm having a hard time seeing how any of that is the left's fault.

I would say that BHO was elected to get us out of wars, he didn't. In fact he got us into 2 more wars, min.
Trump was elected to do the same thing. The first time he takes us into an unprovoked war, he's done.
Trump shook his base the most when he launched missiles into Syria. Want to fuck with Trump's base, which is very anti foreign entanglement, get us into a new one.

I don't care anymore about a football player's thoughts than I care about the alt-right's thoughts. I think they both should be able to express them, regardless of traditions or loyalty pledges. American values aren't rooted in allegiance to the state. It is one of the things about America that fills me with the most patriotic pride. I can talk shit on our leaders and shit on our flags because this is America, godamnit, and I can be as stupid, petty, and disrespectful as I like.
HAIL!
Her needs America so they won't just take his shit away like in some pussy non gun totting countries can happen.

I agree. The demos, conservative and liberal alike, are not interested in endless wars, and we keep electing people who promise to stop them.C-Mag wrote:I would say that BHO was elected to get us out of wars, he didn't. In fact he got us into 2 more wars, min.

Seems like a failure of republicanism, not a particular ideology.

All Trump needs is an "excuse" to get involved in a war and most of his supporters and most Americans will fall in line. And lets not act like its hard to drum up support for a war. Gulf of Tolkien, Remember the Maine, WMD etc. etc. etc.

You just re-posted the same link I already posted. You know, the one you just quoted.Penner wrote:Seems people don't think the same as you:PartyOf5 wrote:Looks like most NFL fans don't care enough to stop watching:

I skipped all of the Sunday afternoon games and MNF. Also stopped buying NFL merchandise like McFarlane/Madden figures and apparel.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/n ... 724246001/Fox’s NFL coverage netted a 12.6 rating and 26 share, a 14% increase over its Week 4 coverage a year ago. The network broadcast one game nationally on Sunday and the ratings were about 20% better than CBS’ singleheader coverage in Week 4 of 2016.
Fox had the top-rated NFL broadcast of the weekend and its best singleheader telecast since 2015, the network announced on Monday.

Every year I read or listen to The Hobbit and the Lord of The Rings, I always loved the books growing up, and still do. They were written in simpler times though, more honest times.Martin Hash wrote:That's "Tonkin," but Tolkien affected my life more.GloryofGreece wrote:All Trump needs is an "excuse" to get involved in a war and most of his supporters and most Americans will fall in line. You just described the last 8 years under Obama. Only he called out the Police for acting stupidly when they did exactly what they were supposed to do when being called to a break in and encountering a man who refused to cooperate. But hey, let's have him over for a beer summit and all's good.ooky wrote: NO. Trump is dividing us. Its the main thing he has talent for as far as I can tell. He hammers and hammers at issues that are divisive and openly takes sides in a way that openly shows how much he literally hates or doesn't give a shit for over 1/2 the country. He cultivates a base that treats him as an infallible cult leader, then tells his base that everyone but him/them are crazy, lazy, stupid and wrong, so now that 38% of the country can now not even *listen* to what moderates or anyone to the left of moderate thinks. And he stays on this day after day after day, so that we are all just exhausted. When he loses interest on the NFL thing, which by the way is simply a lawful protest that DOESN'T MATTER in the grand scheme of actual issues he personally needs to care about, he'll start using something else to divide us. While whipping up the base and angering the rest, he also lies in a pathological manner so that even just saying, hey these are the facts of reality, becomes potentially divisive.
