Democrats say that walls don't work. (Demonstratably false given numerous examples around the world)

Democrats also say that building a wall would be "immoral".

How could it be immoral if it didn't work to actually keep people out?

They know it would work, that's why they're against it.
Libertarian take on the wall:
(Long but interesting read)
https://www.cato.org/publications/comme ... -wont-work

(Fife might have to correct me on this, I assume if it's on the cato website it's a version of libertarian)

The wall probably won't work.

A wall without the will, won't work for very long.

We'll elect AOC from the Block next cycle and that will be the end of it.

I wish that ridiculous puerto Rican was nominated b/c then it would guarantee Trump or any Republican winning for sure. The reaction would be hilarious. It ain't 2080 yet.

The wall isn't going to cost more than doing nothing and just bankrupting the social welfare system, destroying the tax base, wiping out the working class, and watching more of our nation fall into ruin.

If Jedi thinks we cannot afford this wall, then I really puzzle at how he thinks we can afford to pay for tens of millions of uneducated dindus to live here on welfare.
Doesn't matter how much the wall costs if it isn't fit for purpose.
Might as well save the money and just put up a 2' high rope fence if all you want is a symbol and an electioneering vanity project.
Preferably a hemp rope to minimise the environmental impact.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

What is the definition of "fit for purpose"?

If the wall deters 50% of illegal border crossers, is it "fit for purpose"?
70%? 90%? Is there some level where it's not? Under 10%?

I mean nobody, not even Trump, probably expects it to stop 100% of illegals, that's not the point, lots come in legally and just overstayed visas, the wall won't solve that at all, but it might deter a good chunk at the border.

Traffic lights don’t stop 100% of accidents (or even close) but I’ve yet to see a bunch of smug leftists condescending to us all about how stupid they are.

Purity spirals on all sides. Quite entertaining, especially if it wasn't so potentially dangerous and tragic...civil war that is.

How is this a money issue? Somebody explain how $5 billion for what 32% of the people demand is too expensive? Hell, if 100 million people want something, that's worth $trillions. (Think Seniors.)
Probably because nobody believes it would only be $5 billion.
