The wall isn't going to cost more than doing nothing and just bankrupting the social welfare system, destroying the tax base, wiping out the working class, and watching more of our nation fall into ruin.

If Jedi thinks we cannot afford this wall, then I really puzzle at how he thinks we can afford to pay for tens of millions of uneducated dindus to live here on welfare.

Might as well save the money and just put up a 2' high rope fence if all you want is a symbol and an electioneering vanity project.

What is the definition of "fit for purpose"?

If the wall deters 50% of illegal border crossers, is it "fit for purpose"?
70%? 90%? Is there some level where it's not? Under 10%?

I mean nobody, not even Trump, probably expects it to stop 100% of illegals, that's not the point, lots come in legally and just overstayed visas, the wall won't solve that at all, but it might deter a good chunk at the border.
