Just like there'll be a redneck who will assure you he knows exactly how to take out your appendix.
Probably does, I can do the same, now keeping the patient alive is another matter.
And that's ignoring the anesthesia problem unless padded chains for surgery are going to make a comeback. But I would guess that redneck trying to make cordite would face a similar survival problem. I don't think cooking meth would really prepare you.
Making meth can be extremely dangerous, so is moonshine. Cordite need not be the only game in town, many ways to go about skinning that cat. Just like if you really know what you are doing Pseudoephedrine is not required to make meth.

Our country has an abundance of people like you relative to other countries in the world. I don't know about you, but I'm in this circle of friends and family with a lot of machinists, fabricators and just tinkerers who are building stuff all the time. I take on all kinds of projects, welding, blacksmithing, restoring old equipment...………. I don't have a specialty.
I guess I know many colleagues I've met working over the years, so it's naturally skewed in that direction. The FX industry tends towards "jack of all trades" types. What's funny is being a city boy I don't know shit about cars & engines, my proudest recent moment was putting a new engine on my ancient snowblower. There's actually a forum for snowblowers where guys have thousands of posts!
We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

It's nuts the kind of forums you can run across. There are forums on just bench vises, which came in handy when I restored a couple vises.

I'm not great with cars and engines. I have a brother that's a prodigy with that stuff, kind makes me not bother and I work on other stuff.

I once found a forum where people are all anti open borders and just spend their time mocking the MSM and liberals. It was truly sickening. They were saying positive things about Trump and actually trying to suggest that Hondurans do not deserve $50,000 dollars apiece from American taxpayers. I can't do even talk about this anymore, I am so mad. #nazis.

There's machinist forums where some guys spend all their time restoring "old American iron" machine tools and never actually make stuff. But not all. Here's a dude making a 1/2 scale Gatling gun http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net/thread ... -Gun-Build. Apparently it's not technically a machine gun since it doesn't automatically reload.

That's awesome. I never really thought about it, but they are driven by a worm gear, which is pretty obvious.

You guys are so easy to please, all it takes is obsessive insanity + weapons. There are also guys building WWI biplane fighters from scratch.
