Disputable that capitalism is responsible for what science and technology provide.

Capitalism produces a shit ton of goods. Can't dispute that. Are people happier for it? That part is debatable.

Capitalism does not adequately address what really made our lives better, which is why we stopped curing diseases when we drastically cut back government research programs, expecting the private sector to do for profit what is more profitable to treat with drugs.

Go back to the post-war period when we mixed capitalism with huge government research and I frastructure programs and you might have a point. But then.. your point would be more about the balance of and synergy from a combination of capitalism, strong labor protections, and government research.

I mean.. hell.. we paid for any GI to go to college all the way through PhD. Weird how we made more progress between the war and the 1960s.
