I was rather fond of San Diego.
I really liked when I lived there, and I really miss the whole county, but for what I do I can just make more money working in Babylon (LA) and living under the Orange Curtain.

What I meant is you haven't seen all the beauty of Northern California, from the Sierras, to the foothills, to the Coast Range, Redwoods, Coast, Monterey Bay, etc.
No man's life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session

Well, say goodbye to your tax revenue Seattle. You can’t imprison a company to your city fuckers.

Much like the plague, at least it should ease congestion.

Seattle-based coffeehouse chain Starbucks did not immediately respond to FOX Business’s request for comment on the city council’s decision.

Boeing, Costco Wholesalers and Microsoft, which are each among Seattle’s largest employers, declined to comment on the matter.
When they do decide to comment, will it just be a c'ya sign on the door?
Why are all the Gods such vicious cunts? Where's the God of tits and wine?

I'd imagine some very highly-paid law firms and lobbyists are on per diem right now scouting out cheaper pastures.

Sounds like the city council called Amazon's bluff and Amazon folded.
Amazon vice president and spokesman Drew Herdener said the company is "disappointed" with the Seattle City Council's decision to impose the tax.

“While we have resumed construction planning for Block 18, we remain very apprehensive about the future created by the council’s hostile approach and rhetoric toward larger businesses, which forces us to question our growth here,” Herdener said.
Prepare for Amazon to pass along this increased cost to it's customers. Prime will go up another $10 a year for everyone to pay for this.

It's generally difficult, just from sheer inertia, for large companies to just pack up their plans and move on a dime... But I guarantee they're all going to be slowing/stopping any growth in the Seattle area and looking at other options. Heck, Amazon was already looking for an "HQ2" somewhere, want to bet they're already thinking of a "HQ3" (to become HQ1 maybe) already? Might take a couple years, but Seattle probably just approved its own death warrant.

They alienated more than Amazon.

As the story mentions -
While supporters said the head tax was necessary to fund efforts to address a housing crisis and rising homelessness in the city, the measure was met with near-universal opposition from businesses, as well as the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.
Now I know people like Martin scoff at the idea of "the rich" being job creators . . . but when these business start pulling up stakes and getting out of Seattle, we'll see how many middle class and poor people step up and start offering replacement jobs to the citizens.

I be we can all take one quick glance at Detroit and see how that plan works out.
