My point exactly.DBTrek wrote:Well, you and StA started all the demise-cheering in this thread, so a reciprocation seemed in order. If you guys honestly believe you’re going to win battles based on arguing for state rights and personal freedoms while simultaneously cheering the AG for using his power to quash stoners in states where weed is legal, you’re dumb.
You can’t cheer for the strongman while also decrying having to live under one.

Re: Weed legalization thread
Who has cheered for your death? Almost all the issues being used as straw men here are pitting some people's civil rights against what others believe are they're rights. We've been through all this shit again and again. The exact same "religion!!" argument was used to support slavery and Jim Crow as is used to support not serving gays a fucking cake. And none of it has anything at all to do with throwing people in jail for a joint.Okeefenokee wrote:DBTrek wrote:Okeefenokee wrote: Just done thinking I'm obligated to fight for people who cheer for my demise. We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

Yet the issue is "stone cold" serious. Sessions may put real people doing real business legal in their state in jail.pineapplemike wrote:this thread sucks, everyone agrees on states rights and the war on drugs but are arguing just for the sake of arguing

Um, the people in jail for possession are there on state charges. It would be odd to go on about States rights and then complain about those very rights being practiced in individual states. I welcome your support for concealed carry reciprocity, truly a bipartisan issue.brewster wrote:Um, all the people in jail for possession, for starters. Then all the people harmed and killed by the organized crime distribution system. What's the false equivalence? Or is that just a phrase you heard? Letting people smoke weed is very much like letting them have guns, except with far fewer casualties. The only difference is an interpretation of the 2nd Amendment give you a right to a gun.
StA, I searched and found commentary in other threads, but not a thread on the subject. Funny though.

Didn't cheer for Sessions. Said back before inauguration, like others, would prefer him not carry on with his drug crusade. Seems like so far he hasn't.DBTrek wrote:Well, you and StA started all the demise-cheering in this thread, so a reciprocation seemed in order. But if he does, you'll understand why the NAT doesn't shed any tears.
We will eradicate the jews!...wtf Israel? Why won't you help us?

It’s like that old Star Trek joke:
Q: Why aren’t there any religions in Star Trek?
A: Because it’s the future.
But I’d better watch it, or their soon to be extinct cult members will pull their nonexistent support or something. Lord knows how badly we need a bunch of unreliable, ungrateful, generally misanthropic people backing us!
