Politicians are hypocrites? Shocked I say!

When it comes to politics, hypocrisy is backed into the cake, one should come to expect it.

Sigh. Tell DB. He's the one pointing out the D hypocrisy. I was merely reminding him it goes both ways.

Kath: I’m a Registered Republican.
Also Kath: I’m defending Democrats to DB because he’s pointing out their hypocrisy and that’s not fair!

StA called you Schroedingers Democrat and you were like ”Let me double down and prove it right here”

Of course it does. If a politician wasn't a hypocrite, then most of the time they would lose elections to politicians that are hypocrites. Being a political weather vane has built advantages that principled ideologues don't have, that's why the former usually win elections and the latter usually lose elections.

I hate them both pretty equally, for different reasons.

Being a flip flopper doesn't hurt politically, unless you suck at it and choose your spots poorly. Pointing out the hypocrisy of politicians isn't very persuasive, because they are all hypocrites, so it's like yawn.

What I find important may not be the same as what you find important.

Republicans want to make the MIC bigger and more expensive. They want to listen to my private conversations and do a cavity search whenever possible. They want to ignore the 4th Amendment. They want to control my body and what I can do to it and put into it. They want to control who I marry.

Democrats wants to make the MIC bigger and more expensive . They want to listen to my private conversations and do a cavity search whenever possible. They want to ignore the 4th Amendment. They want to control my wallet and my speech.

Why should I pick one? They are more alike then not.

Let me know when there is a party that wants me to be as free as possible to do as much as I want, as long as it doesn't harm others. Let me know when there is a party who believes I have the right to not have the government interfering with every aspect of my life. Let me know when there's a party that believes the government should have a valid reason to violate my rights, and they have to prove it to a judge. Let me know when I have the right to know why I've been put on the terrorist watch list.

Until then, it's just D=R, with jingly keys issues to make the proles choose between a lesser of two evils. A lesser evil is still evil.

Eradication of smallpox
Internet (which some use to criticize the very concept of government itself, which amuses me greatly)

Exactly, and most of the electorate doesn't care about politicians remaining politically consistent, even if you personally think it's important.

Hypocrisy = Yawn
It's a very ineffective angle to attack politicians from, they are all hypocrites, it's baked into the political cake.

You are willing to choose sides. I am not. You do you. I'll be over here, rejecting it all.
