The unasked question, that should be posed to the CIA.
What in the 2800 pages of files that were delayed for release in 1992 were of such sensitive nature that they were deemed necessary to withhold for 'National Security' reasons.
What, WTF is it that was so damn big in those files ?

No, I believed that the files were requested to be release, through a FIOAA, during the Obama years (maybe even longer) and this was the release date. Nothing really and I do think that most historians who have studied this is a) happy to go over it and b) going over it. Although, heydaralon has a point- nothing revolutionary has yet to be found in these files.Nukedog wrote:I honestly think even the CIA can't figure out what really happened. No, they were scheduled to be released and the CIA still tried to block it.

Yeah, but this wasn't really Trump doing it but instead FIOAA (which I believe was created under Clinton). I heard that Trump allowed the CIA to not release 300 files, so whatever.Nukedog wrote:No, they were scheduled to be released and the CIA still tried to block it.
BUT also you have to realized that just because it was filed under "top secret" doesn't necessary mean anything vital was found. Sometime (especially during the Cold War) the CIA would just classify a ton of mundane things as "classified" to CYA themselves.

Yeah I agree with that. That's my opinion really. I think the CIA found a lot of weird leads and they could never figure out with any certainty what really happened. Such is life I guess.

No. I think the opposite. They probably found out that Oswald acted alone and killed the President. It was known that he was a former Marine with a trouble past, who defected to the USSR, married someone from there, moved back, and was still having problems. Overall, I think that a lot of the conspiracies theories come up because people just don't want to believe that one crazy guy did it alone. The only real thing that is weird was how the bullet came in BUT that could just be one of those 1-in-a-million shots that came up as a fluke or something.

Ballistics don't really work like that but I concede as well it's quite possible they may have tried to cover up the fact one of their own agents went rogue. Wouldn't be the last time.

As with so many things with government, there are no penalties for fucking up.
Someone needs to justify why the public was denied knowledge of what their government as doing.
An Affirmative Defense.
Page by Page. Line by Line.
And if they cannot, then people need to have a penalty. And if they are retired, then time to make some cuts to their retirement.
Hiding things from the People needs to be a serious offense.

The CIA knew of LHO. Was he an asset? I would assume so considering how politically involved he was and the circle of friends he kept.
Trump’s main reason to release remaining docs is to give the CIA a black eye.
Not saying the CIA was behind the murder. Just that LHO was a “friend of ours”.
