Many of the policies and positions you've already outlined.

Yet . . . I got off the bandwagon, accepted the next president as our president, and moved forward with life.

Remind me why you and Grumpy are still hand-wringing and nattering like a couple of jilted exes about what Trump said on the campaign trail when that ship sailed ten months ago?
Seriously, you two sound like that ex gf that never learned to let go, and still calls all her friends to talk about that time her "piece of shit boyfriend said x-y-z".
What's the purpose?
This guy is our president, I'll be damned but this country voted him in. I didn't want to be in this relationship with him in the first place, if he had just stayed the same blustering billionaire he's always been, and not been elected president, then I doubt you'd hear nary a word about the guy, just like you heard nary a word about the guy after Obama got elected, and before the Trump election cycle, but now he's not the ex-gf, he's the current gf.

He's our president.

And unless the people/system checks this guy at every turn, he's going to do things like I've outlined, he's going to do his stated intent. It's only because the people/system balances him out that he's not allowed to do his stated intent. That's why.

Ahhhhh, I see.
That must be why the ACA is repealed, there's a wall along the Mexican border, Muslims can't come into the US, NATO is disbanded, and transgenders have been drummed out of the military.

Or wait, none of that happened.

Ohhhh . . . I see now - because you're here on the internet with GCF to keep the president in check.

Well, bravo.
Great job.

Let's admit we can't do a whole lot on the national level (Dan's been trying for how many years?).

I certainly didn't vote for the guy. I'm not a lawyer, not a politician, I work and I sleep and argue on the internet with you fellows.

So what could I do to stop the guy? Not a whole lot, perhaps write or call our representative. Locally though? Want to get involved in some political action? You, me, martin and nmoore could make some changes at the local level, what would you like to do?

We should just get Martin elected, and count on him owing us one.

Then . . . pick one thing we really care about and call in the favor.

I don't imagine that the future County Exchequer of Bumfuck, OR will have a significant amount of weight to pull on my behalf, but sure. Let's do it.

Well DBTrek, looks like I did it wrong arguing with the antifa acquaintance. Went into work today and got chewed out by the boss, telling me how I shouldn't be arguing with this fellow. My boss telling me that in this job I'm going to need friends, because if I don't have friends I'm not going to last very long, and that if her employees don't like me why would she like me. I'd say it's best not to argue with the antifa chasing you or challenge their religion. I related what happened to this other fellow I usually worked with and he told me how they treated the last guy that stood up for himself against this duo, the boss and her antifa lackey. They basically accused him of stealing stuff, and the gentlemen goes to one of his fellow employees in tears telling her how he absolutely wouldn't do that and he doesn't know where this is coming from, He's also telling me how the guy was a standup guy as far as he could tell and he believes they basically framed him to get rid of him. Up until that point I was just going to give my two weeks, but after hearing that, nope, out tonight.

Fuckin public sector work, fuckin crazy fuckers. I just want to go to work and work. Handed in my stuff and said goodbye, not worth the $200 every two weeks I get from the job.

That was my second job though, got the regular 40 already. Now I have 2 days off a week :).

The sheer amount of fuckin crazy, I did not expect it. They really do live in their own little worlds. One guy who has been there 15 years wants me to fill out an affidavit about what happened to me tonight, so if they ever come after him, he can have me testify in his defense, or at least as a character witness against them. It was a second job, I just wanted to go there and work.
