Neil deGrasse Tyson just came up with the idea of naming each planet after the 7 Drawfs because those planets orbit around a red drawf.

I would rather go with something like Shakespeare characters. Think about the people who will die trying to colonize those objects. "He sacrificed everything so that we could make Grumpy a new home for humanity". Fucking come on.

Yeah, I agree it's a stupid idea. I would prefer it that they would name those planets after the planets from Dune (if it hasn't already been done already)- then we can read about the "spice wars".

Has Neil deGrasse Tyson ever had a good idea? Serious question, because every time someone quotes him, I wonder why the hell he has a platform. All of his ideas seem to stink.

I'm not a huge fan of his, but he's doing a lot to make scientific thought more popular, and less "nerdy". He's very charismatic.
