Re: 7 Earth-Size Planets Found by NASA
Neil deGrasse Tyson just came up with the idea of naming each planet after the 7 Drawfs because those planets orbit around a red drawf.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Nooooooooooooo
I would rather go with something like Shakespeare characters. Think about the people who will die trying to colonize those objects. "He sacrificed everything so that we could make Grumpy a new home for humanity". Fucking come on.
Don't make me tweet Trump about reclassifying Pluto as a planet.

Yeah, I agree it's a stupid idea. I would prefer it that they would name those planets after the planets from Dune (if it hasn't already been done already)- then we can read about the "spice wars".Speaker to Animals wrote:Penner wrote:Neil deGrasse Tyson just came up with the idea of naming each planet after the 7 Drawfs because those planets orbit around a red drawf.

Has Neil deGrasse Tyson ever had a good idea? Serious question, because every time someone quotes him, I wonder why the hell he has a platform. All of his ideas seem to stink.

Rather than contribute to real science, he became a celebrity.

I'm not a huge fan of his, but he's doing a lot to make scientific thought more popular, and less "nerdy". He's very charismatic.
