The tipping point is past. The responsible thing to do is keep fighting to lessen the damage, but it can't be stopped.

Ahem, passed not past.
Anyway passed or not the tipping point need not be the end of the matter. There are ways of locking up carbon and reducing output of CO2 but that defeatist attitude of yours is not helpful. After all you put a man on the moon nearly 50 years ago when most people thought that was impossible too. Your new twins are going to see some scary changes in their lifetimes unless the head in the sand, la la la I can't hear you crowd can be persuaded to change their minds. For your kids sakes you shouldn't give in, whilst it does seem like 97% (citation needed) of the worlds climate deniers live in the USA that's no reason for YOU to admit defeat.

The invention of a discussion about wether or not global warming/climate change is real or not, lets lobbyists and slick politicians avoid having to deal with pollution. Calling pollution something which can be questioned was a masterstroke: "Hey, these scientists say global warming isn't neccesarily real, so therefore there cannot be a problem with me dumping pesticides in the river... disagree with that and you're Al Gore!". Brilliant strategy.

Who the fuck cares wether "climate change" is real or not. Narratively, the only word that should mean anything is pollution. Unless people here want to prove how exhaust fumes are no problem to be around by wrapping their lips around a running car exhaust and inhaling it for just five minutes, or by drinking groundwater full of pesticides, sticking ones head in the sand and pretending that it matters a single fuck wether or not Global Climate Change Warming/Cooling/Lukewarming is real or not, only serves you if you get paid to divert everybody's attention from pollution. Reducing pollution... because it's pollution and it's harmful to health, soil quality, water quality, fishing, etc., should be the main motivator behind decreasing pollution.
Fame is not flattery. Respect is not agreement.

Who exactly wants more pollution?

Sure, pollution is important. So is biodiversity and not wasting valuable resources but these things are so intertwined it is unrealistic to dismiss one problem in favour of another. Cleaner energy using renewable sources can help with both pollution and CO2 output.
After all there's not much point in cleaning up air quality if the future is going to see most of our big cities under water and huge storms sweeping the planet.

Well Trump's love of the coal and oil industries and his vow to opt out of your commitments to the Paris accord won't help.
