The shooting happened in Las Vegas is what they've been saying on the news. I don't know if the authorities have confirmed it yet.

I don't know how reliable the LA Times is as a source, but this guy had multiple run ins with the law including something involving a minor. Who knows what happened, but this guy doesn't seem like the sort of person who would use the internet for silly cat gifs.

The photo shows the guy in a wheelchair, so they probably found him at Professor Xavier's mutant school. The cops should be wearing special helmets to avoid him reading their minds and filling it with underage smut.

Even if the bust is legit, it’s the result of a detailed sweep of the shooters family, and sets a pretty dangerous precedent.

I linked that article above you where they talk about the guy's past. I agree with you the timing is suspicious, but in this day in age, the authorities probably scrutinized the shooter's family members and girlfriend's online activity to determine either complicity in the crime, or insight into Stevesey's mind. They might have discovered the pedo trove on accident when investigating the family, who knows.
