Yeah from Titanic until Gangs of New York, I had completely written him off. Ever since he's been dynamite, sometimes shitty actors turn into gems, DiCaprio is a prime example of this phenomenon.
I think Leo must have a good agent, because he has only done one or two shitty movies in the last 20 years. Blood Diamond was pretty awful but he has always manage to rise to the occasion, even when he gets a baboon shit script. I never saw Romeo+Juliet, but Titanic sucked balls. Since then, he has been hitting it out of the park. It seems like the same thing happened to Matthew Mcconaughey around 2010.

Bill the Butcher is probably in my top five movie characters ever. He makes Heath Ledger's joker look like Jack Nicholson's Joker.

Blood Diamond was ok imo. Nothing to write home about. It did #woke me to the blood diamond thing to a degree. I had heard of it before but it didn't really register. It registers even more hard when you start to learn about the history of Rhodesia and SA.

It's fair to say that Andrew Jackson faced a rising abolitionism v. secession crisis during his presidency, and at one point Jackson did indeed force South Carolina to back down on the road to secession, abeit in the early stages, but it's really Trump's main point which is complete nonsense, the idea that somehow populism would have prevented the Civil War, when in fact the Civil War as the ultimate case of populism run amok.

I think Jackson said on his death bed that he wished he could have hanged John C Calhoun.

Indeed, and in fact, the Civil War is really just the Second Revolutionary War, the only difference was, in the Second Revolutionary War; the Redcoats won.

It's a recurring point you make, and I don't object, at all, to the idea that it was a further revolution, of a sort. However, the counter-revolution of 1787 is where the real action was , eh?

More like the Treaty of Versailles; the poison pill, which makes round two inevitable at some point.

It got kind of preachy. I just could not make myself care about that guy finding his son. My favorite character was the African Warlord. He was trying to show that kid the ropes and teach him about the real world, and Leo and black guy came and kidnapped the boy after the guy put all that effort into training him. Talk about ingratitude!
