I have to agree with Capps on this: going after Trump's tics just immunizes him from real criticisms.StCapps wrote:Exactly you want to ignore important things that you could criticize Trump on and stick to criticizing Trump for unimportant things. That's my point, you pick your battles terribly and somehow think that words are more important than actions.Kath wrote:His actions? What's to say? He's not really into anything he campaigned on, which I consider a good thing. So, here we are with a do-nothing clown for four years.
I want to talk about the clown show - you go bitch that there's no bigly wall.

It's like watching the end of shutter island, when leo falls back into his psychosis, and you see the looks of disappointment on the faces of everyone who realizes he can't be saved.Kath wrote:I'm talking about how this man continues to make seven mistakes in a six-word sentence. Why has nobody ever looked into the reasons behind the Civil War?
Who knew healthcare would be so complicated?
After a 10 minute talk with the president of China, we now know that N Korea is complex.
This is buffoonery at its finest.
I think he's trolling, honestly.

Or did Leo just pretend to slip back into his psychosis, knowing that he would be lobotomized and not have to live with the memory anymore? Kinda like Oedipus.Okeefenokee wrote:It's like watching the end of shutter island, when leo falls back into his psychosis, and you see the looks of disappointment on the faces of everyone who realizes he can't be saved.
Rewatch that ending bro, focus especially on the last question Leo asks before walking off to the lighthouse, there are a couple different ways to look at it.

I'm thinking that our Canadian friends don't get the same highlight reels of Stupid that we do. That probably explains this.

Oh I've seen the highlight reels. Nothing special, he just speaks in folksy way to make the average voter feel like he's one of them cause he talks like they do and not like a lawyer or politician, it's not rocket surgery. I'm seeing a whole lot of confirmation bias on the part of his haters thinking they are proof that Trump is an idiot.GrumpyCatFace wrote:I'm thinking that our Canadian friends don't get the same highlight reels of Stupid that we do. Shutter Island was not a good movie. Easily the Worst Scorsese movie in the last 15 years. It had its moments, but sadly it decided to go down the well travelled amnesia/multiple personality path. Fight Club is pretty overrated, but at least when it used the multiple personality thing, it was the first movie to do that. Nowadays, thats just lazy, uninspired writing.

PS - I've watched him a long time, starting with Robin Leach in the 80's. He used to be fairly well-spoken. He is 70. My dad started saying the most asinine shit when he got to 70. Not as funny, but he wasn't trying to lead a super power.

People don't get the ending, that's why they hate on it. It got layers people, I'm fucking telling you, watch that again. It's not even close to Scorsese's best, but it's still a great Horror movie and it's not easy to make a good horror movie.heydaralon wrote:Shutter Island was not a good movie. Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
So, you're saying he did know that Andrew Jackson was dead long before the Civil War started, and intentionally lied about it so he could appear to have folksy charm? If I was a Trumpster, I'd take that as a dis. He's calling his fans stupid. A winning strategy for his groupies.StCapps wrote: Nothing special, he just speaks in folksy way to make the average voter feel like he's one of them cause he talks like they do and not like a lawyer or politician, it's not rocket surgery.
