Congress allowed the intelligence agency to get out of control by allowing it to become its own power inside the government. The only way it will relinquish control is by kicking and screaming down whatever rabbit hole we need to go down to do so.C-Mag wrote:For me one of the biggest questions will be if Congress can re-assert power over the intelligence community, which appears to be out of control right now. Yeah, we can start by eliminating whatever intelligence agency your average Congressperson can't name off the top of their heads. What's that number bandied about 16? 17? With the power that the intel community has taken, who is wondering about the veracity of this chemical weapons attack in Syria ?

I'm not. What purpose does it serve? We will fire a few cruise missles at military targets but there is no appetite for any kind of protracted military campaign.C-Mag wrote:With the power that the intel community has taken, who is wondering about the veracity of this chemical weapons attack in Syria ?

The surveillance of everything is out of control, that's true. But seems the issue is taken only when it's appropriate for other things.C-Mag wrote:For me one of the biggest questions will be if Congress can re-assert power over the intelligence community, which appears to be out of control right now. People remember this small incident from March 2015?
See Senators Okay With Spying On Citizens, But Outraged It Happened To CongressSen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), a staunch defender of government surveillance of ordinary citizens, took to the Senate floor Tuesday with the stunning accusation that the Central Intelligence Agency may have violated federal law to spy on Congress.
Feinstein, head of the Senate Intelligence Committee, railed against the CIA for compromising the legislative branch’s oversight role — a theme echoed by many of her Senate colleagues throughout the day. The outrage was palpable among lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, and some suggested CIA Director John Brennan should resign if the allegations are true. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who has stuck up for intelligence agencies in the past, declared a potential war.
“This is Richard Nixon stuff,” Graham told reporters. “This is dangerous to the democracy. Heads should roll, people should go to jail if it’s true. If it is, the legislative branch should declare war on the CIA.”

CONFIRMED
FISA Warrant on Trump team.
Now let's see if it was justified.

This is what a lot of people were already assuming. The FISA warrant was what made the listening legal and they never actual bugged Trump but one of his ex-campaign advisors. Unless someone comes out and said that they actually bugged Trump then there is still no merit to what Trump tweeted about Obama illegally spying on him.C-Mag wrote:CONFIRMED

http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/11/politics/ ... index.htmlWashington (CNN)- After a review of the same intelligence reports brought to light by House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes, both Republican and Democratic lawmakers and aides have so far found no evidence that Obama administration officials did anything unusual or illegal, multiple sources in both parties tell CNN.
Their private assessment contradicts President Donald Trump's allegations that former Obama national security adviser Susan Rice broke the law by requesting the "unmasking" of US individuals' identities. Trump had claimed the matter was a "massive story."

First of all Trump is absolutely 100% right on this, arguing against it is to parse semantics. And I will give you 2 other absolutely true statements.
1. You are being spied on electronically by our government
2. I am being spied on electronically by our government.
So Trump was right from the get go. The Intel community is out of control and its propaganda wing, the MSM, is covering for them now.
Your argument is purely partisan political hackery. Spying on Trump follows a pretty standard pattern for the BHO administration. BHO spied on Germany and Congress too. When they start to get caught on shit, they send out Susan 'It's about a video' Rice.
Do you have trouble believing anything Trump says or do you feel necessary to defend Obama ?

So let's see. Two Russian spies from the SVR, of which one gots a prison sentence (as others flee to Russia), talk about Carter Page in the following manner when eavesdropped by the FBI years ago, far before Trump even was a candidate:C-Mag wrote:CONFIRMED

I think it's justified to look into him, especially if he has a chance of handling confidential information etc. No reason for a public outcry... that the FBI got the FISA approval.(Male-1) wrote that he is sorry, he went to Moscow and forgot to check his inbox, but he wants to meet when he gets back,” Podobnyy said, according to BuzzFeed. “I think he is an idiot and forgot who I am…He got hooked on Gazprom thinking that if they have a project, he could rise up. I also promised him a lot…this is intelligence method to cheat, how else to work with foreigners? You promise a favor for a favor. You get the documents from him and tell him to go fuck himself.”
