Well you'd be wrong because he campaigned on being more hawkish in the Middle East and his supporters ate up the "bomb the shit out of ISIS" stuff. Bombing the shit out Assad for supposedly using chemical weapons, that scores points with his base too, not just the Neocons. Just because the move pisses off some Trump supporters doesn't mean it isn't a net gain in popularity for Trump.
