Shapiro acts like it's unlikely for Trump to know that the left would overreact to his outrageous statement, which is why he thinks that he didn't do it on purpose, but come on, Trump knew they'd overreact and play right into his hands, how could he not? Virtue signalers are going virtue signal, especially when they are virtue signaling that they are better than Trump, it's what they do. Obvious bait is obvious.

Well they have deluded themselves into thinking they are somehow winning, and that's why they fall for it every time, wishful thinking leads them astray, like clockwork. They live in a bubble and within that bubble it seems like a great idea, then they project the beliefs of their bubble on everyone else, and that's why the seem so eager to slit their own throats.

I was called this morning by my VFW Post, asking if I had any problem with getting rid of the NFL at the Post. I said, 'Well, I've already shut them off so it doesn't matter to me.' We have Direct TV NFL Sunday Ticket like many, many VFW posts. Our post will be calling Direct TV to cut the cord to the NFL. We will be giving our refund to VFW members needs. I was told the State Office already approved any post wanting to do like wise. And the State will be carrying the message to the National Level. The VFW is a $100 Million Dollar a year Service Organization with 1.25 Million Members and over 10,000 Posts across the country.

This is the issue. Trump doesn't know the left he doesn't think in those terms. What he knows is the media and they are helpless slaves to him. And because the left is organizationally broken i.e. Democrats the radicals and media are the ones running the show. So he knew the media would run wild with it. Also, this is a wedge issue and he is on the right side of the wedge. This is the game. They ran on the War on Women, we can run on the War on Patriots. In fact now that I think about it this has a political operative fingerprints all over it.
