No, the softwood lumber industry is terrible, British Columbia gives the trees away to the clear cutters for nothing, then whatever they can't sell in Asia, they dump into the US at below cost, so they're basically clear cutting our old growth forests, just to make American homes cheaper to build, when American homes are already cheap, and it's not us who pays the tariffs, it's the Americans who pay, doesn't effect us in the slightest, just makes American homes more expensive to build, while Americans funnel money to their entrenched interest companies, let them tariff it, who cares? Fuck British Columbia.

The Americans can't even keep up with their own demand, they'll still be forced to buy Canadian lumber to build houses, they'll just be paying more, so they're just fucking their own consumers, it's not our problem.
