Shocked that the legion took over the Roman republican government. Couldn't see that coming..

If it came to my son serving or me, I would gladly take his place.C-Mag wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 7:28 amDoc, don't worry about it. We don't need TC or BroGrump or Kath............................... We only need their kids.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 6:39 amIt was something you should have done when you were young rather than make excuses.
We'll have plenty of war for them. It may seem like a long while off, but consider that in about 3 weeks there will be kids born after 9-11 that are eligible to serve in the Legions.
I may be broken... the difference is my son has opportunities that I never had growing up, and I want him to take them.
I would gladly be on the front line to keep my son and wife safe.
That is what most people don’t understand, I am willing to sacrifice everything for my son, and I was willing to do so before he was born.
I can’t say the same could be said for others here.

It's a good and decent sentiment. But it doesn't work that way............. We don't want your broken down body, we want your young fresh kid, with new legs and young energy. We will take him and put him in the Legions. The Conservative wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 7:34 amIf it came to my son serving or me, I would gladly take his place.C-Mag wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 7:28 amDoc, don't worry about it. Good luck there, he won’t be taking orders for long if he goes in. He is way too smart to be a grunt.C-Mag wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 7:37 amIt's a good and decent sentiment. And no, that’s not my opinion. He’s already been tested due to my issues and he’s off the charts smart.

We don't care. We don't care that you think you, or your wife or your kid are special. We need numbers. The Conservative wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 8:05 am

By the time your kid is of age is about the same time we should be fully understanding that the volunteer military has failed because of continuous war.
He will be ours.

See, now that's a good attitude. Embrace it. Oh, and BTW. This isn't an 18th C Napoleanic Army. We need smart guys in the infantry, we don't need smart guys in logistics in the rear. The Conservative wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 8:21 am

A leader leads, a commanding officer is an asshole.C-Mag wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 8:25 amSee, now that's a good attitude. Embrace it. Oh, and BTW. This isn't an 18th C Napoleanic Army. Commanders are usually relatively disengaged. They have NCOs to do the asshole thing for them.
That look of subtle disappointment on the commander's continence means you are in for a tough time with the NCOs later.
