IBM is only about four times the size of Lockmart now, IBM has been selling off to companies like Lenovo, while Lockmart has been buying companies like Leidos, so 234 mil shares at $250? I can see Lockmart catching IBM in a few years, as they start to eat IBM's GovServ lunch.

If IBM starts losing GovServ to LMT, and the share price starts to come down, I can see Lockmart making a play for their high end servers, bear in mind Lockmart can leverage to buy, interest is not a problem.

Chinese. Which is why DHS wants Lockmart to drop the formerly IBM now Lenovo servers in the Navy's Aegis combat system, which, I'm sure Lockmart is willing to do, since they are now hunting IBM.

IBM making an enemy of the Big Gov, is a very bad idea, LMT is laying in the weeds for them.

I can see LMT being the biggest GovServ comany in the world before too long, with their GovServ division dwarfing their weapons division, taking IBM out and heading for Apple like market cap in the process. That's pretty much what LMT is shooting for, to be the Apple inc of GovServ. They have to quadruple in size, but that's how big the GovServ market is, and why they are making this play.

IBM does seem... what's the word.... not geriatric but ossified maybe. Seems like they could be at least.

It's big, 957 mil shares, $58 billion net, but it's heavily dependant on the Big Gov, and vulnerable therein to the MIC drinking its milkshake. If the Big Gov turns to the MIC, I can see IBM and LMT flipping spots, and I don't think it would take that long.

Huawei and Lenovo buy up IBM's low end business, Lockmart buys the high end, IBM just gets parcelled off, the commercial stuff to China, the GovServ to LMT.

I can feel another stock split coming at LMT, $250/share is real high, the last two times they split it was only $100/share, so if LMT splits again, I'd make it a buy, 2.5% is not the moon, but Lockmart is blue chip, particularly if it goes big into GovServ, if it starts eating Silicon Valley's Gov lunch, I can see it being much better than 2.5% when all is said and done.

I don't think the street is seeing it, but I don't think they're pricing in the move that Lockmart is making on IBM, Lockmart is not getting out of the weapons business, but in ten years I'm thinking weapons will only be 25% of what they do, they'll still be $13 billion worth of weapons, but there will be whole new $50 billion worth of IT and GovServ on top, which is basically IBM.

Bear in mind, the 2.5% yield is just the weapons business, they didn't change their business since the last restructure, but this time around, they would be restructuring to expand, not to stand still doing the same things they've always done, with convergence of technology, they're basically an IT company already, F-35 is more software than anything.

edit; Also, 2.5% yield doesn't actually reflect the appreciation of the share price since 1998, so your dividend is not the same as your profit, in the last ten years Lockmart has tripled your money on top of the dividend.

Unless you have some insider information, there's no such thing as "expertise", but if I sold my LMT right now, it would be at a 370% profit, plus the dividends paid, you're calling that a bad buy?
