You can't "repeal" the right to bear arms. The government never granted it. That right exists.
If the government tried to "repeal" it, we'd be in a state of civil war immediately.

Damn straight! I was fined for refusing entry to an illegal govt search and was told "If you've got nothing to hide you've got nothing to fear"....BY THE PERSON WHO ANSWERED THE PHONE AT THE ACLU!!!Kath wrote:The fourth, though, that can be praised when violated as championing freedom.Speaker to Animals wrote:

We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

They shit all over every last amendment.
It's a pretty big fucking difference between shitting all over them, with some hope of reversing the trend, and just outright saying we are banning your human rights.
If they tried to "repeal" the fourth amendment it would be the same situation, just not as quickly. Trying to confiscate guns, I promise you, will result in total civil war. We will be fighting.

The difference between the 2nd amendment and the 4th amendment is that the 2nd amendment is a states right, the Well Regulated Militia is of the States, whereas the 4th amendment is not a states right so it falls under the purview of the executive vis a vis national security, Article II, so the trick is not to violate the 4th amendment, rather you circumvent it by declaring a war and then invoking executive war powers to supersede it.

It amazes me that there are grown assed, supposedly educated, adults who don't understand this. We are talking about war. How do you not understand this having been born and raised as American citizens??

Economic collapse. General unrest, and gang violence.brewster wrote:What scenario do you anticipate? The only people I fear are the ones here on MHF. The people in this country who are most afraid are the ones with the least to fear, in the least dense parts of this country.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Just in case. I was much amused at the news that the NRA took foreign money but says none of it got spent in the election, that money was from their OTHER pocket. LOL.
You're right, I don't live in a dense area, but there are some bad dudes in the neighborhood. We have a motorcycle "clubhouse" at the end of our street, and a bunch of drug shacks hidden among the cottages. I have no idea if it would even be of much use, but better to have it, I think.
Planning to pick up the loudest pump-action shotgun I can find. Maybe I can get away with a bluff, until I can get the kids out of town.

On a side note, it would be very fortuitous for the GOP if liberals do in fact rally around a Repeal the Second Amendment platform, as they will of course impale themselves on that, that kool-aid is political poison.

Ooh, like a babe in the woods, bluffing in a gun fight, bad juju, you're more a danger to your children in that case.GrumpyCatFace wrote: Planning to pick up the loudest pump-action shotgun I can find. Maybe I can get away with a bluff, until I can get the kids out of town.

I wouldn't hesitate to use it, if needed. Just hoping to avoid that for as long as possible.Smitty-48 wrote:Ooh, like a babe in the woods, bluffing in a gun fight, bad juju, you're more a danger to your children in that case.GrumpyCatFace wrote: Planning to pick up the loudest pump-action shotgun I can find. I'm sure that I could run off the initial looters, looking for a soft target. At that point, we retreat to family holdings in the sticks. Much more defensible.

Yes you would, as you clearly are incapable of making a tactical assessment, in thinking that bluffing is a sound option.GrumpyCatFace wrote:I wouldn't hesitate to use it, if needed.
You've already hesitated, and you haven't even bought the gun yet.
