Nobody, to my knowledge, has argued for the elimination of wealth accumulation. Communism Strawman is like Godwin's Law around here. Nobody would. We'd all be running around the dense forests of Europe hunting deer and living in huts.
If I was being reincarnated in human history somewhere between the beginning and the end, and all I could do before choosing a spot is know the wealth inequality, I am not choosing the times and places of wealth equality. That would be fucking stupid.

A call for reason, with a dash of hyperbole, clumsily interpreted as a call for seizure of wealth.Speaker to Animals wrote:

you can view everything through oppressor -- oppresssed axis, it is a perfectly valid way to view everything, except that it is only one way, and it is only half the picture.
There are a lot of other ways to view the substantial challenges of the world -- better to choose one that serves you, instead of makes you into a resentful victim, I speak from the heart, because for many years I viewed the world oppressor -- oppressed (and oh how appealing, to know this one trick, and then understand everything, with a monocausal axis everyone can be a philosopher in a day), and when I changed my mind set, the world began to come to me.

No, (ape can correct me if I'm wrong) the argument is that you can figure out the rules of the system and accordingly work them to your benefit.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Nobody making less than a NYC lawyer could save 75% of income. Doesn't mean that were in awesome-fucking-system-land, it just means there's more beneficial things to do instead of bitching and wistfully hoping for the 'impending financial meteor and torches & pitchforks.'

Why not start a philosophy thread for this discussion then, rather than distributing your pearls of wisdom upon an obviously economic OP?now to the merits

Dont Jordan Peterson me. I'm good, i've watched his lectures on Personality and Maps of Meaning. I agree resentment isn't a good resourceful emotion. I also know even Peterson isn't opposed to change, revolution, or new order. That's what the "open" and "creative" people are for. Its always a balancing act. Too much order or too much chaos is a bad thing. Its out of alignment theres too much accumulation and control of resources by a few families/conglomerates. He doesn't offer a solution but he acknowledges it can be a "problem". And a problem needs a solution. The Status Quo aint it bucko. Time for a course correction.apeman wrote:Don't be offended by the following questionGloryofGreece wrote:Any Regulation = Socialism

I predict you are resentful of your place in the economic dominance hierarchy. True or false?
