Nostalgia for an America that never was, the average poverty rate in America in the 1960s was 22%, right now it is 13%, the average unemployment rate in the 1960's was 5%, right now it is 4.5%, the average household income in the 1960's was $51,000 in inflation adjusted dollars, the average household income now, is $51,000...

... and the political institutions of America were exponentially more corrupt and compromised in the 1960's, in the 1960's, things really were run from a smoky back room, bugged by J. Edgar Hoover of course.

If we are being honest, all those Tonight shows and late shows are about as good as HIV positive homeless person smegma. None of those guys be it Leno, Letterman, Meyers, Fallon or whoever are remotely entertaining. Its all shit. I feel like watching even a 30 minute segment of any kind of Tonight show raises your chance of Alzheimer's' by about 40%. They are exactly the kind of lowest common denominator middelbrow mentality that has made most of television the pile of unwatchable garbage that it is. We would be better off if all those guys got fired. I'm not even taking into account their politics. They are just not funny.
