Youd have to make the checks out to me he steals a lot of my material.heydaralon wrote:Smitty is there a particular reason that you haven't started a podcast of your own or a radio show? If you set it up on Patreon and linked it to the people on this forum, I would probably throw you a few bucks per month and try to advertise via word of mouth. You could call Smitty's Military History or something...Smitty-48 wrote:A "Democratic Socialist" is just a cowardly faux Marxist, doesn't have the courage of his convictions, any socialist worth their salt, would have all the bourgeois "Democratic Socialists" lined up against a wall and shot.jbird4049 wrote:Sanders is a Democratic Socialist, but too many think of him as some kind of Marxist.
Nostalgia for an America that never was, the average poverty rate in America in the 1960s was 22%, right now it is 13%, the average unemployment rate in the 1960's was 5%, right now it is 4.5%, the average household income in the 1960's was $51,000 in inflation adjusted dollars, the average household income now, is $51,000...I am going by today's unmoored politics. The '60s political institutions, its economy was much better then than it is now. The foundations of the country been so degraded that it can't support the country during even modest shakes.
... and the political institutions of America were exponentially more corrupt and compromised in the 1960's, in the 1960's, things really were run from a smoky back room, bugged by J. Edgar Hoover of course.
You're just an internetz nonsense blubbering faux leftist college boy, the only difference between now and the 1960's, is that in the 1960's, you wouldn't have had the internet, and so we'd all be down at the pool hall right now, at which point, you would be getting the shit beat out of you for being a dirty Red.
Nowadays you could probably call the cops and have us arrested for that, but back in the 1960's, we would have called the cops, and then they would have come down and laid an even worse beating on you for being a dirty Red.

Colbert's asshole is basically a cock holster for the Democratic Party. I think it would be funny if he lost his job over this.

He is as they all are. So no he wont. Just look at his predecessor did exactly what Bill O'Reilly did but was a liberal so no one cares.heydaralon wrote:Colbert's asshole is basically a cock holster for what the Democratic Party tells him to do. If we are being honest, all those Tonight shows and late shows are about as good as HIV positive homeless person smegma. None of those guys be it Leno, Letterman, Meyers, Fallon or whoever are remotely entertaining. Its all shit. I feel like watching even a 30 minute segment of any kind of Tonight show raises your chance of Alzheimer's' by about 40%. They are exactly the kind of lowest common denominator middelbrow mentality that has made most of television the pile of unwatchable garbage that it is. We would be better off if all those guys got fired. I'm not even taking into account their politics. They are just not funny.

True that. I am to the left of him, and anti-authoritarian. The government see me as a very good candidate for the purge.clubgop wrote:You wouldnt last 5 minutes in a purge let alone a bread line.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Ah yes, the good old Cold War black vs. white goon-squad mentality. Ick.

The funniest thing I ever heard out of Conan was him bitching about losing his show.

I think we are in the minority, because people seem to love those shows. I can't stand them. To me they represent all of the most superficial and empty aspects of our culture. I'm not a snob when it comes to tv or movies, but there is something that rubs me the wrong way about those shows.Okeefenokee wrote:I've always wondered why the late night shows had viewers.heydaralon wrote:If we are being honest, all those Tonight shows and late shows are about as good as HIV positive homeless person smegma.
