They should apologize for their elitist cocksuckery.

That's the part that angers me about this. They should apologize for being bailed out with taxpayer dollars post 9/11, and then treating the very taxpayers, whose money they used to stay afloat and give out millions to their corrupt shit weasel former CEO, like trash.

Re: United Airlines beats the shit out of passenger
First thing I thought after reading about this is "why not have a reverse lottery for these situations?"Speaker to Animals wrote:Passengers also claim that one man offered to give up his seat for 1400 but the employee laughed in his face.
This is not capitalism. In capitalism, I buy a good or service and it is delivered. If somebody else wants that good or service, they can offer to purchase it from me.
If United wanted their employees to fly in somebody else's seat so badly, they should have found a price that was worth it to the passengers. In fact, they seemed to have had an offer for $1400. But they scoffed at that and decided to steal the seat from the person who already paid for it.
Because they didn't want to pay the $1400, they are set to lose millions (probably a lot more) as Americans say fuck no to United Airlines and it's fucked up response to this debacle.
If we had a free market, a company like this would never exist. You better believe, if we boycott the fucking thing, they will just get our tax dollars to bail themselves out and rebrand their merchandise to a new name.
We're buying your seat back from you now.
Do I hear $4,000?
Do I hear $3,000?
Do I hear $2,000? Going once?
Do I hear $1,500? Going once? Going twice?
Do I hear $1,250? Going once? Going twice? Sold!
Thank you airlines, please pay me for this crazy idea that only I could have thought up...

I wonder if United was one of the companies that complained about their ads going on political incorrect youtube channels, giving them "bad press"..

That is the problem is it not? Too many police think that they are Judge Dredd in some Hellscape. If the authorities can tell you to do anything because they are the law, what rights do we have?Smitty-48 wrote:Which, whatever, if you don't like the deal, don't fly United again I guess, but if you decide to take the airport security and police on, that has nothing to do with the airline, and if you do, you're asking to get rousted, what did he think was going to happen? Maybe you can throw a tantrum with your mommy and daddy, but Johnny Law ain't playing that shit.
In grown up world, once the police show up, you just go quietly and call your lawyer, but if you want to get cute, well, that's how you get one upside the head, it's your call, but don't come crying after.
This is not a rhetorical question. In most of the country, the police can take your money, anything you own because you might be doing something illegal. They can also beat you, arrest, and falsely charged you just for annoying them.
Here, rather than deal with their incompetence, the airline used the police to beat into a hospital stay a 69 man because that was the easiest thing to do, and he was annoying wasn't he? He paid, he went through "security", and boarded the plane. Was he mentally ill, have a family emergency, a patient needing his care? He could have had a health issue like a bad heart in which case we might have had a funeral. I have relatives like that. Older, I'll, easily irritated, confused. Something like this could so easily happen, and kill them.
Yet, they would be, and he is the problem because they did not obey. It is not for us to obey, like dogs.

It's too bad there's no way to impose economic penalties for this sort of thing without hurting ordinary Americans like pilots, airline attendants, and aircraft maintenance folks.Fife wrote:United Can Eat a Bag of Dicks

Well, if you're going to make the cops roust you, they're not going to be gentle, because if you're going to move someone with force, you have to be decisive and make sure they know this ain't optional, basically to prevent a melee, because if you go soft and a melee ensues, then you have to escalate to more force to bring that to a close, so I see it more as the guy was just taking things way too far, as in he wasn't going to budge unless somebody forced him to, in the face of even the police, and if you're going to force the police to use force, it's going to be forcefull, thus, don't come crying to me, ridiculous to take it that far, over an airline flight, when they are offering you $800, a free meal, and hotel room, just to take the next flight, I mean, it may be annoying, but that's air travel, it's no reason to get into a contest of wills, with the police, which, you're not going to win that contest.jbird4049 wrote:That is the problem is it not? Obviously he wanted to milk it and play the victim, and maybe he'll get something out of that, but I don't see him as an actual victim, he was just being a man-baby for the purposes of causing a scene, hoping, as I say, to milk it for all it was worth, which, whatever, but I'm not shedding any tears for him.

Yes indeed. No chance whatsoever that the fool actually gave a shit about his patients. What is this, communism? Fuckin bastard he just was playing for that sweet lawsuit money. Of course he was mugging for the lawsuit, he knew the phone cams were on him, he knew exactly what he was doing, this is America we're talking about, it's lawsuit nation, and he's milking it right now, don't talk to me about his patients, he was fine with missing the flight for $1400, he was just turning down $800, that's what this was about, they offered $800, he said no, he wanted $1400 or he ain't budging, they called the cops, so he thinks "if they touch me I'll sue" and as soon as they touch him he starts hamming it up for the camera, squealing like a little girl and then making them drag him as if he was shot, now he's claiming a laundry list of bogus injuries "ZOMG a concussion". Please.
