Re: Putin The Great!!
Being the good guys doesn't pay what it used to. Getting to the point where it's better to be the bad guys, and stop caring about it.

No man's life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session

Truth be told, at current trajectory, most American troops will be serving for each other. It's becoming a caste system.
Even out here in Civyland, vets are kind of our own thing. Fidelity will continue to grow each generation. The military will continue to become more of a subculture, with the same families serving one generation after another. The rest of Americans will continue voting for more stuff, and giving us politicians who want empire.
Eventually the divide between the military subculture and the rest of America will be too great to even pretend like we fight for these principles.
It's really quite sad.

Being the good guys is not hard, being the good guys is simply being the Shining City on the Hill, protected by the Eagle with Thunderbolts in Talons Grasped, this is what incites the Flight to Quality, which underpins the Empire of Liberty.
All the Latvia's of the world will be saved in the end, by the Flight to Quality, to the Shining City on the Hill, under the protection of the Eagle with Thunderbolts in Talons Grasped, it's just a matter of time and patience.
Do your thing, protect your shit, wait them out, simple as that.

But the bad guys get the best uniforms. Good thing, though, the USN's NWU's perfectly hide a sailor in the sea environment. The DoD is staffed with some real geniuses. The recent uniform changes proved that beyond all doubt.

I mean.. I was not thrilled about the pink hue to the DCUs back in the day, but they did technically blend into the desert environment.

The new one's better.
Good thing it only took ten years and billions of dollars to get it figured out.

For the desert, khaki worked just fine back in the day. For Europe, forest green worked as we saw in BDUs.
I am not sure why we have to pretend like tried and true doesn't work. These digicam patterns do look tight. They look great on backpacks and consumer items. But if you have to uniform a huge army for an environment in which you will engage in combat, why not just go with what works?
