Britain Opens Army To Foreign Nationals As Youth Increasingly Refuse To Sign Up

Amidst the British Army's worst troop shortage since 2010, foreign nationals will now be allowed to enter military ranks according to a policy change by the Ministry of Defence announced Monday. What essentially amounts to a mercenary recruitment drive is meant to stem the tide of a worsening recruitment crisis in the armed forces as local youths increasingly refuse to sign up.

History is pretty clear on this point. When you have to rely on mercenaries to fill your military, it signals the end of your nation. Oh, it doesn't happen the next day or the next year, but it will happen. This is fucking sad. I have thoroughly enjoyed and respected my time serving with UK allies.

Lots of Swiss mercenaries got contracted to fill out Napoleon's ranks. Good old, reliable mercenaries keeping Rome a continuous power, and putting Italy on the map for millinnea.

The Italians who turned their Army over to Mercs were destroyed. They didn't see a unified nation for several hundred years again.

You've always had Common Wealth Soldiers and the Ghurkas are Auxillaries, but what I read is that you can be a foreign national if you've lived in the UK for 5 years.

Depends on what you mean by "Brussels"? That Polish PM? In a sense, he is just as much "Brussels" as the Danish PM, the French President, the German Chancellor, etc. Merkel isn't anymore "Brussels" than the PM's of Hungary, Poland, Italy or Denmark are. If by "Brussels" you meant the EU parliament - who btw don't make laws, they can only agree or dismiss laws submitted by the Commisioners... a ridiculous institution. It was the EU Commission and Parliament who (tried to) impose sanctions on Hungary for not admitting more refugees (they don't have a total ban). It's not going to happen, nor will it ever:
