Re: Another School Shooting
So wait, the right to bear arms means no limits of any kind on the arms.
So a corporation could decide to buy a nuclear weapon.... you know, for some negotiating leverage...
And that's ok....
Just playing with the concept here a little.

Canadians can bear arms...
But we are used to accepting limits on those arms...
Unlike y'all it seems.

"Privilege, not a Right" that might work up here Dr. Youth, but it obviously doesn't fly in America. This isn't breaking news, you should be aware of this long ago.

Isn't part of the role of the state.
To control the means of enacting violence.
So that the Hatfields and the McCoys can only dispatch so many of each other... before the State steps in to mediate... through rule of law.
If one Hatfield could polish off all the McCoys in a single missile strike... the State has little to offer the situation.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
That is pretty damn clear.
In America, it's a Right, not a Privilege.

Re: Another School Shooting
Am at work so I haven't got time to look it up, can anyone tell me if there are any other countries in the world who consider owning guns a right rather than a privilege?
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.
