One way this could get solved is for Russia to duplicate social networks and let Americans run their shit over there outside the clutches of the American deep state, MSM, and the corporate world.

There is not likely anything we are going to do or say on their networks that can really bother them, but lots of potential for them to gather intel and foment more discord if they want.

That really is the end game of this deep state nightmare world coming to fruition. They are driving Americans into the open arms of Russia.

You soon will have zero voice. Facebook, love them or hate them, is the public square now. Twitter and Instagram are not far behind. YouTube replaced television as the primary means to consume video news and commentary.

They are shutting us down and there is no universe in which the "free market" is going to solve a problem like this.

You will not be able to speak openly at work lest you get fired. You will not have access to social media, which means most of the avenues you have to actually persuade other Americans will be cut off from you. You will be isolated and cut off.

Your community is getting flooded with nonwhites which means you will have few meaningful social relationships. Everybody is a distrustful stranger.

Put it all together and imagine what is in store for you.

You are trying to muddy the waters. This has nothing to do with net neutrality. Net neutrality is an issue with the Internet backbone and the Internet providers. This is about social media.

What does that have to do with anything? If the power company started shutting us off from electricity because they don't like our political views, and somebody said we should probably have regulations against that kind of destructive behavior, would you reply "who do you think will run the utilities?"

From a legal standpoint, you could possibly go after the social media companies claim that they are common carriers when they don't want to be held responsible for content. If they are going to be a newspaper-model instead of a library-model, then they are culpable for what they allow on their networks. This means Facebook should be held accountable for hosting terror groups like the one that radicalized the mass shooter who tried to assassinate republicans in a baseball game.

If they are like a newspaper, then they should come right out and admit it, and then open themselves up to all the inevitable prosecutions for hosting violent content.

Yes. Treat them as publishers. As a utility nope never going to get there. The utilities and your right right to access them are already established. Social media always had rules and TOS, your rights to access were never established.
