Gaslighting? Meh. Maybe, if there is anyone out there that actually believed that some reduction in government was IRL going to happen. Nobody's really that gullible, are they?

If there really was a hiring freeze for three months, then I'd say the reduction already happened. The question is will it last after the freeze is lifted, and the freeze was always going to be lifted. Reducing the government doesn't mean we are going to reduce until we're Somalia.

So the issue is how does it work after the freeze is lifted. How is the administration seeing that the numbers don't shoot right back up to where they were? But unlike it seems is being implied or stated, that the freeze is being lifted is not evidence of anything.

Yes, reduction doesn't mean we are going to reduce until we're Somalia. Reduction does mean *not* continuing expansion, however.

I might not be understanding this correctly, but the hiring freeze can't continue forever, right? At a certain point, the attrition has to be stopped. The little snippet I read said the hiring freeze was ending and there would be rules or a policy for new hires involving something like demonstrating the need for any new hires.

That's exactly how I would expect it to go. Get the numbers down through attrition and then require future hires to be approved as being necessary.

Should be killing the VAH system to make claims processing easier and faster. Give disabled vets vouchers to buy health care.

EPA needs to have most of the leadership replaced and it's core mission set in stone. When they fail to do their job, start replacing people until they succeed.

The EPA is out of control, they need a reset. They are getting sued right now for using illegal encryption to thwart oversight.
