China Is Building The World's Largest Nuclear Submarine Facility

Starting later this year, China's new submarine factory on the Yellow Sea will churn out nuclear-powered attack submarines (or SSNs) ensuring that the sub program of the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) will soon be a deadly global force. Once fully operational, the assembly line will enable China to at least match USN SSN production.

Same deal either way, they don't want to give the US an "easy" access into mainland China. And "WW3"? You think going to war with North Korea would be...World War 3? :|
It depends entirely on the reaction from China and Russia. The scary part here, is that we don't know where they actually stand on the issue. China is massing troops on their border with NK, but is that to invade, or to defend?

What's Ivan do here? They're not exactly remote from the situation..
I think, and this is just personal opinion, China doesn't give two fucks about North Korea anymore. They just see them as the annoyingly crazy, but mostly harmless, neighbor. They are likely to help the US in some capacity if we go to war with them. They are mostly just concerned about potential refugees crossing over to China. They would probably rather take control of North Korea than allow South Korea take it over though. So I think their massing troops at the border are in preparation for invasion in order to take as much land as they can if a war between the US and NK does happen.

If SK took over NK and the US left them to their own devices, I think China would still leave them alone. Stability, and a lack of drain on their system would make China less worried I think.

China wants nothing to do with a unified Korea that's allied to the US. They won't put up with that shit. China doesn't want the inevitable flood of North Korean refugees and South Korea isn't hot on taking them either. If North Korea falls apart then the Chinese are going to move in to keep some kind of a buffer state between China and South Korea, that is at least neutral. Also if the US is going in, then China is going in, they certainly aren't going to sit back and let the US handle it all and then get fucked over when the dust settles.

China views the American confrontation with North Korea as being a cover for the US to build up its forces against China, so, no, China is not going to "help" the US in a war against North Korea, the Americans are full of shit of course, war with North Korea is fake news, but the US will still be using North Korea as an excuse to build up its forces, so the Chinese are essentially correct.

A Unified Korea backed by the US and bordering China on the Yalu is a nightmare scenario for China. China sitting by allowing that to go down, that's simply never going to happen.

Has nothing to do with sympathizing with either, the issue is really that the MIC is pushing for three big programs, one is GMD in Alaska, the other two are THAAD-ER and Aegis BMD, so Korea is providing the justification to expand these programs, it's the same game the US was playing with missile defense in Europe, claiming that the missile defense in Poland and the Czech Republic was "cuz Iran", so the Chinese are going to react the same as the Russians did, in that they know that it is pointed at them. Their biggest concern is actually the AN/TPY-2 radar, because it's so long ranged, it can see very deep into Chinese airspace.

It's not even that the US wants a war with China, it's just the MIC Missile Defense programs trying to survive and thrive in the real war, the Pentagon Budget War.

Yet their present course of inaction is far more likely to bring about that scenario. Dumb move. You want your terrorist bumper state between you and the west you better keep that lapdog reined in.
