I realize it, and it sucks. There are very few new bands coming out, even in the genres I enjoy, that I can stand. Even the rock and metal is mostly packaged into neat little compartment where everything within that compartment sounds the same.

Very few bright points out there, among the corporate garbage.
Sturgill Simpson and Chris Stapleton are the only ones that come to mind.

''Death to Disco'' was an early rallying cry of the Punk Rock era back in '76.
Mind you, we didn't like all that self-indulgent prog rock shit like Meatloaf that went on for hours either.
Didn't take long before the bean counters turned Punk into just another commodity though.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Punk was already just about DOA by the time Repo Man rolled around in '84, eh?
By '85 most everything was slipping into total shitte for all of the music.

I think historians will put the death date on Rock in 2011 when the White Stripes ended. I don't even know if there exists a legit Rock band any longer.

black keys just put out a solid rock record a few weeks ago, plus there is tons of great modern rock and punk music that isn't mainstream so you never hear about it
