Oh, we did a lot of shopping, back then you couldn't get a lot of things from America in Canada, so they took me to the mall. Southern California, we spent a lot of time at the mall, back then that was where you could meet girls when you weren't old enough to go out with the big kids.

The 50's could be rough, my father was there, I've been briefed, it's an exponentially freer America now than it was in the 50'sGloryofGreece wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 9:56 pmSure. Freer to search for information with no purpose, i know. Freer to think what you will, take drugs, drink, and do what exactly? Freer isn't a virtue and it certainly isn't a meaning or purpose.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 9:57 pmThe 50's could be rough, my father was there, I've been briefed, it's an exponentially freer America now than it was in the 50'sGloryofGreece wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 9:56 pmSure. Epidemic drinking and plenty of drugs in the 50's, guy, the 50's were actually debauched.GloryofGreece wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 9:59 pmFreer to search for information with no purpose, i know. Id wager that a higher percentage of people are indulging in drugs today than in 1950 but we can't prove it either way so im more interested in your thoughts on the other parts of my above statement.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 10:01 pmEpidemic drinking and plenty of drugs in the 50's, guy, the 50's were actually debauched.GloryofGreece wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 9:59 pmFreer to search for information with no purpose, i know. My thoughts are that perhaps you are suffering from depression and projecting a negative view of the world, when really, it's not the world, it's just you.GloryofGreece wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 10:04 pmId wager that a higher percentage of people are indulging in drugs today than in 1950 but we can't prove it either way so im more interested in your thoughts on the other parts of my above statement.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 10:01 pmEpidemic drinking and plenty of drugs in the 50's, guy, the 50's were actually debauched.GloryofGreece wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 9:59 pm

I mean, me, that boy in the 70's, I just wanted to be like Neil Armstrong and serve my country, then marry Dorothy Gale from the Wizard of Oz, and we would live happily ever after in a house in the country.
Literally happened. For a Latchkey Kid who thought we'd be long dead in a thermonuclear firestorm by now, life is about as good as it could be, full of meaning and purpose, which is love.

It could be both. I could be "depressed" and what I said still could be true. Again speculation and conversation is all that is going on here so feel free.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 10:05 pmMy thoughts are that perhaps you are suffering from depression and projecting a negative view of the world, when really, it's not the world, it's just you.GloryofGreece wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 10:04 pmId wager that a higher percentage of people are indulging in drugs today than in 1950 but we can't prove it either way so im more interested in your thoughts on the other parts of my above statement.

Well, I was indoctrinated like Neil Armstrong, to not worry about that which is beyond my control, and rather just do the job, like Cincinnatus, after which I returned to a quiet life with my Dorothy Gale in God's country.GloryofGreece wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 10:29 pmIt could be both. So what you have said isn't my reality, so not sure how I can help you.
Help me to help you, what is it that you want from me?
